The current timetable has the last train leaving Hull to go to Leeds/Hudds on a Friday night at 21:38, so if anyone was planning on getting that they'd have to leave at least 10/15mins before the end of the game.
It's not an option I'd take if I were a Huddersfield fan.

Is Hodgson the new Griffin, or is it all about pace?: |
|
| If you really like trains, the 22:20 to Doncaster would eventually get you to Huddersfield at about 03:00am.
(Currently also delayed by engineering works!)

| Hull has always had a terrible late night train service for a city of its size , but it will improve when they replace all the manned signal boxes between Selby and Hull with automatic signals .{ Sound like a right anorak I know but its because I use the train to visit family..........honest }

| As soon as Friday nights became our predominant home fixture it nailed the coffin shut for swathes of away fans.
Whilst the focus of course is home fans, being that much further away than all the other clubs bar our 6 fingered neighbours it takes a heck of an effort to get here at the best of times.
A linked effort through the clubs and RFL not only to sort out transport (a late train option crossing east/west appears impossible these days) but also discounted away tickets like a season pass of sorts but choosing a minimum of 7 away games, with better discount for a full away ticket pass. The clubs that get chosen on the selection get the money up front from the respective clubs.
Also ability to buy tickets using electronic device with a digital id/passport and use 3d scanner to check code on screen or an oyster type card.
I'd like to see a RL car sharing website were people can offer/request a lift to games whether home or away fans.

| Can't say I recall "swaithes" of away fans visiting the KC on a Sunday afternoon.
We manage to take plenty across the country for night matches, such as Saints last week
I doubt that anyone went on train, either.

The term first appeared in the 16th century and enjoyed its greatest popularity in the 18th and early to mid-19th centuries. Since then it has fallen into disuse. Most likely unaware of the word's history, modern writers who recoin the term seem to like how it sounds, even though it adds nothing in meaning to its workhorse counterpart, agreement. The suffix ‐ance indeed is used in English to form many nouns from verbs some more words we don't use anymore. it would be nice to see some of these used on this forum, especially as a few seem to be particularly relevant to certain posters

He was right in the end: |

| We'll never hit 12,500 as people want, with the closures and putting the away fans in the east.
we only have 12000 seats on offer to home fans

Okay maybe Swathes was the wrong word but Thursday and Friday night games is a limiting factor for away fans particularly from the west of the pennines.
That said Both FC and KR fans travel away in tremendous numbers, always have and should be given kudos from the RL fraternity.
Aside from the east of the river visit there are no 'close' fixtures for us, Catleford being the closest at 48 miles and Widnes 120 miles away.
By comparison West Yorkshire teams have 3 others between 8-19 miles, the 5 red rose lot have 7-23 miles to travel.
Which goes to show how great our fans are.
God knows how many miles the few Catalans away supporters do!
