I'm not sure anyone is. The fact is that he's doesn't have the attacking skills of the top hookers in Super League which is detrimental to our game.

Yeah, not Houghton fault, but just about every other club, have two hookers and one who can score trys from dummy half.

Better effort by the sounds of it. Did Evans or Brown come back out in the 2nd half as dont think I heard their names mentioned in 2nd half come to think of it not Lovodua. Poor end to the gss as me and disappointing. Had the chances but again a game we failed to see out when in good position with 20mins to go.
Discipline still an issue giving away penalties at crucial areas and times. Still think it’s a massive error playing Houghton fir 80mins as he just can’t do it anymore, we lack so much at nine.

I agree Houghton is past his best but surely its obvious that its easier for a hooker to be better around the ruck when the pack is dominant with quick play the balls. Until we can consistantley do that our nines will always find it difficult.

That's a pretty good side we put out, not sure it's busted, not much worst than other sides.

Id say our slow play the ball contribute more to that. Other then Satae our forwards rarely find themselves winning the wrestle.

High penalty count, too many six agains and unforced errors.
Have to say our kicking game is poor.Seem to kick straight to a defender instead of putting it on the ground and making them work for the return.
Fages showed us how to kick and turn us round in our in goal.That said we dont seem to have players with nous who can get us out of our in goal.
Other teams seem to be able to save the drop out by getting out of the in goal

Watched him a few times around the ruck and just doesn't look with it at times mentally

Brown, Fash and Evans often do, Houghton is ok, but shouldn't be an 80 minute hooker, why sign a hooker and not play him there.

Hudd were smart, brought an attacking hooker off the bench when we were tired and he scores twice, whilst we play a mainly defensive hooker for 80 minutes

My main concern is that I don't think Hodgson can see the issues with Houghton and will continue to play him for 80 minutes.

but we dont have nines only Houghton so we will never know if our nines would find it difficult

It's better than it was a few weeks ago, but we're missing Swift, Carlos, Griffin, Sao, Mau, Savelio probably Cator from our 1st choice 17.

We're still up against it for me. Hudds had a few injuries admittedly, bit they've not been anywhere near as disrupted as us. Which has probably helped them finish higher up the table.

Like I say, disappointed to lose the way we did, but it's not the end of the world. Get Saints out the way next week, then hopefully we can get some bodies back and have a decent last month.

Great effort, couple of poor plays second half and a bit of kidology from hudds fullback turned the game, always in the back foot last 10-15.....couldn't buy a penalty tonight yet hudds were getting plenty from the same infringements, never offside once in the defensive line!

Hodgson has just alluded to something similar on radio.

Nearly all the second half seemed to be played on our line and that constant pressure told in the end.

Had to cope without two of our main forwards for the full second half which was bound to tell. Could really have done with Evans the way he was playing.

Sounded like a great effort which is all I ask for.
