i was at my nephews chrisitening last sunday and 1 of the players was having his daughter christened at the same place. Got talking to 1 of the players about the quins game and he mentioned how impressed he was with hame and moa at which point i said i hope we keep moa and his reply was i do too but knowing hull fc they will get rid of him to save 5k icon_rolleyes.gif

It's abit worrying when even players are saying things like that icon_sad.gif

The club has debts of £1.4m. Revenue will be down this year - we've sold 4,000 fewer shirts for starters. We have Long, Lauaki, Fitz, O'Meley, Berrigan on big money contracts, and I doubt that R Horne, Raynor, Yeaman, Calderwood, Tickle, Manu will be on peanuts. The players complaining about FC's penny-pinching should recognise that a consequence of their poor performances bringing in less revenue to the club is that savings having to be made.

This rant is not about Sam, BTW, who I like, just the fact that a member of a team that's dragged us to 12th in the table feels it's OK to moan about tight pursestrings.

Very good point well made, and to be honest i never looked at it that way just so frustrated with how things are at moment i seem to automaticly want to blame the club icon_surprised.gifops:

Would have been my first thought as well, as I think most would like to keep Moa and not risk losing him for a relatively small amount of money.

I work for a business that's very cost conscious, and generally people are bought into the idea of saving money wherever possible and recognise that when sales are down, belts have to be tightened. Not all teams invested £30k or whatever in a warm weather training camp, but we did. Not all clubs get the training and playing facilities that we have. At the moment investing in those things isn't yielding a return as the team have taken us to (effectively) bottom of the league and gates and merchandise sales have suffered. Our of order to moan about cost saving in that context IMO. I'll get off my soapbox now. icon_wink.gif icon_lol.gif

If you are not part of the solution then you are more likely part of the problem...:

I know someone who recently spent time with a first teamer. The player spent all his time telling him what a p1sshead Mark O'Meley was! The same said player can usually be seen in the concourse with a lager in hand on matchdays.

And I wonder why my team has gone the way it has? icon_rolleyes.gif

To be honest i used to be 1 of hall's biggest critics, thought he always over forced the pass but he seems a new player since his loan spell (well done agar icon_confused.gif: icon_eek.gif) maybe we really do know nowt icon_biggrin.gif

Strange that the club ran a feature on him on the official website yesterday, where he praises his team mates and the coaching set up when he's 2 weeks away from going to Rovers.
