Best thing we've done all game is a huge hit from Thompson apart from that and a fantastic run from JT again we've done nothing. I've had more fun listening to the dopey cow next to me moaning that abdull didn't take it on the full from a drop out when it was practically drilled across the floor and bounced 20 metres in front of him.

The starting lineup, as individuals, has no mugs, but clearly, as a team, it isn't working.
Friendlies are for the coach to try things out, not, unfortunately, for the benefit of the fans.

Radford saw (pretty much) his first choice 13 last week in the first half v Rovers. We looked alright that half, those players did well, does he need to have another look at them all again? The problem was the players brought on weren't upto scratch.

I reckon he's using this game to learn abit more about those fringe players. Just a friendly int it.

We learnt the youngsters aren't good enough en mass... might fair better in dribs and drabs...

Once again we choose to be involved in a friendly that iirc we initially say we'll use to try out combinations to see which ones will be best for the first game ( having such a surfeit of choice now ) , allow the game to become a testimonial for a great player and then 24 hours before hand seem to change our minds and put out a bunch of kids and players who will not feature against Huddersfield and produce a complete non performance. Unfair to Ellis , unfair to the FC spectators and unfair to Wakefield and their supporters. If we really don't like friendlies just be up front about it and say so. Why did Sneyd play? Are we unsure about him still. We didn't want to risk injuries for the rest of the first team so why risk him , the scrum half that we've never had?? It all just seems like Featherstone to me , I just don't see the point. Even blooding the youngsters , surely that's better done by putting one player into a strong side rather than knocking their confidence by involving them in games like this.

On the plus side, 11 of our key players protected from injury. With Michaels getting a run out probably means full squad to pick from bar possibly Naughton?

Maybe we should never play any of them again that way they'll always be protected from injury!

Have to say that does nothing but knock the confidence of young players and probably the club.It also shows that neither Bowden or Green are starting props.
As a previous poster said whats the point in Playing Sneyd he is not a commanding 7 who can steer the team around the park and its highly unlikely he will not start against Huddersfield as we don't have anyone else.

Whatever the reasons for today it just seems to me that an already fragile fan base has just had any confidence shot down for the opening game of the season.

If Radford feels that the first 40 against Rovers is enough for his first team then he is sadly deluded.

I don't even want to be saying this , just the second half against Rovers and the team played/performance today has made me come back down to earth with a massive bump
