I am not a great lover of the present management at the KC, city or FC. I have a lot of time for Pearson, he cared about the KC and had a passion for RL. His passion was dmaped down by our board who where at odds with him for most of the time one way or another.

My understanding is that Duffen and FC have better working relationship, now is this a good thing or a bad one?

I do think that certain interests would remove FC if they could, they can't and they see FC as the one thing stopping them gaining full control of a civic amenity. School finals where supposed to be played at the KC as part of its set up, I see they have now finished and even the council is renting parts of the stadium.

Its seems its a power struggle and the world cup bid will become part of the agrument soon. We will be in the way come the summer 2018, expanding the stadium will take a few months and they will want full excess to the stadium for the duration of the group games. They will not want our markings all over the pitch, spoil the view for the pundits to wax lyrical all over it.

I know that and you know that trouble is Duffen & co see it as a way to expand the capacity and get the council to at least part fund it.

There is a very large wedge of KC money laying idle in banks because the present administration has no desire to spend it and they can not use it to keep the comm charge down.

It hasn't, which is why I said the KC wont be needed, I cannot see them sending the World Cup here so soon after an Olympics.

I was told that when the RFL asked Duffen about the KC hosting an International game he was all for it and asked them to send him a list of dates that he could send to the FA to be considered when compiling the PL fixtures. When it came down to it the RFL gave one date only which was no good as he'd already had the dispensations for Fair and the Clipper launch. The RFL's lack of flexibility was the reason we failed to get an international game.

And by this rule of thumb he can never stage any extraordinary events at the KC until after the publication of the Premier League fixtures. As most major events need the best part of a year's planning the future looks bleak for Hull people wanting to see Concerts, Internationals etc at their local Community Stadium paid for by local money.

Well publicised by Duffen himself at the time. About the same time as he announced on Live Local radio that he couldn't have had any complaints from the rugby population of Hull about this because they couldn't write, IIRC.

The RL offered him one date which he couldn't guarantee. I believe more were offered after this initial refusal which were also declined, but not 100% sure of these details. At no point did Duffen offer them dates - how could he? The fixtures weren't out and that was the whole problem - no date would have suited if he wasn't prepared to ask for the dispensation.

Never been able to get to the bottom of why he didn't try for the dispensation. Was he too embarrassed to go cap in hand to the PL schedulers once again? Or what? Can't think of a reason why he wouldn't try, even if his attempt was refused.

Maybe he did try...do you know for certain he didn't.

If he didn't it would've been because the RFL didn't do as they first promised and give him a selection of dates instead of just the one.

He'd already asked for 3 weekends in a very short space of time where City needed to play away...the FA have a hard enough job as it is without one club needing 4 weekends away from home in the space of 2 months.
