| Can't keep someone on Walkers wage as 3rd choice, even as backup its not worth it, we have to do better with our cap management.
Last year, we did give up, but Pele was righly released, poor attitude, had to move those type of people out of the club.

Also isn't it still the case that if a player plays 1minute they count on the cap. I seem to remember we got stung years ago for Andy Last playing a game and then his coaching wage counted on the cap and took us over.
So paying some to be backup is pointless if you then can't actually play them in an emergency.

| Just seen an article on how we nearly signed Zach Dockar Clay (played for KR in the championship) for the 2024 season, but he decided to stay at Roosters. I presume it was instead of Nu Brown. Just shows how clueless our recruitment was, another utility pivot. When we crying out for a scrum half to replace Clifford, we ended up with Walker and Brown.

Saw that and thought the same, it was one of them clickbait articles but seemed like a direct quote from him that he was about to join Hull and and changed his mind. I suppose in the clubs defence it’s pretty clear that there was very little quality 7s that would have been willing to come and play SL.
We went for Clune as the first target and got blown out the water by Hudds. He’d have been a lot better but he’s on a big 3 year contract at Hudds. He hardly set the world alright and had very little first grade experience anyway they’ve probably got buyers remorse now. Shows just how tough a market it was, in hindsight maybe not letting Clifford go until we had something sorted might have been a better move, that would have been risky though.

I think ZDC was for this season, someone told me we were after him in June, then we went for Rimba, then Cust.

They might have had talks with him again for 25 but he deffo said he decided to turn Hull down so he could have another go with the Roosters for the 24 season, he’s now been released.

Quota is full so I'll settle for Farnworth, Radley and Luke Thompson

| Radley would count on the quota, otherwise he would be here now, one look at the Hull FC billionaires and big John C, would have him over the line.

His and Bryne's are the names that keep getting batted around.
Thought Bateman looks very good for Wire towards the end of the year and would improve our back row massively.

| Read an article earlier from Serious About Rugby League, and I have no idea how accurate they tend to be, but basically sounding like Bateman could be in a bit of limbo. West's want rid of him and have now signed May. And Manly would have to get rid of a player to fit Bateman in, which it seems like they're struggling to do.
He may be available. And if we are one of, if not his only choice, then we may be able to get him for a fairly decent price.

I think we need a prop now a back rower. Who have we got?
Props - Ese'Ese, Sao, Aydin, Ashworth, Fash, Gardiner, Wainhouse, Laidlaw,
Back Row - Lane, Holmes, Cartwright, Staveley, Jebson, Kirby,
Could do with 1 of each really, and a quick outside back

| Mikolaj Oledzki for 2026 would be a real statement signing to make, I'd definitely make him a very good offer.

Staveley could play prop and think that's where he will end of. Cartwright could play there too, although I'd much rather have him in the backrow.

really? He looked good when he first burst onto the scene but has been pretty average the last 2 or 3 years.
Certainly has the build for it but seems to be something lacking. Maybe a change of club would help

Been pretty good, carried Leeds pack, but had no support,.
Think he'd be an excellent signing, but would be amazed if he left Leeds.

Indeed and certainly not looking good for Salford or the he game as whole.
I’d certainly take Deon Cross off their hands as think he’d be a very good addition.

Half a mill isn't a small amount of money.....
Bet the Salford fans who took a loan out to help the club are well chuffed.

| Even more interesting is who’s going to represent us at the meeting AP’s still in control until the buyout is completed. Fly on the wall if AP meets up with Degsy, who’s been less than generous in the press lately. Something like “Heyup you fat , FC’s considerably richer than you” Harry Enfield’s Lodsamoney springs to mind.
