TBH honest that's the fairest description I've read on here. Useful but not spectacular, will never be in front of berro and houghton, the quotas coming down, he wants to play more regularly at hooker. Good business all round I'd say.

Its a sad day when yet another promising youngster leaves the club because of a lack of vision within the coaching staff. The club are losing out on players they have spent money on and developed, now KR will reap the benefit as Josh is going to be a world class player.


Wrap it up as you like, but some one is making some very odd decisions and the loss of a current England academy star borders on the criminal. The only club will get no return on the investment it has made in Josh will be the reports of him doing well followed by the constant jibes from the red and whites.

Thought as much, same applies to lots on here who seem to know everything about your youngsters who are average and "way behind houghton and berro"

Add Fitzhenry to that list as well

Next season we have no u21 team to pay for and that should have released cash for player retention like Josh. As we supposed to be spending upto our cap already there has to be some savings, doesn't there

1) Third choice hooker at 19? Reserve Player of the Season? Worth keeping surely?

2) Wasn't attempting to fuel fire, but as clubs, colours aside, it is clear as day that Rovers have come on leaps and bounds and Hull have gone bacwards. Short lived or not, only time will tell, but as it stands right now, my statement was correct

Very good post and it's something most Hull KR fans can definitely understand. A few years back we had no chance when it came to talented youngsters. Now we are seen as a very attractive club for young players and if the opportunity arises you can't knock them for making the move. People can say what they like about Rovers signing Hull players (Hudgell just trying to get one over you etc...) but every single signing we've made from you has been quality and I think Josh Hodgson will prove to be another one.

From Hull's point of view, you've just lost one of your most promising reserve grade players.

Indeed you will, but looking at the bigger picture, how long has Berrigan got left? Surely the timing of him retiring would've been perfect for Hodgson's potential break into the first team?

If you're not bothered that a promising 19 year old (your Reserves POTY, no less) has just left to go to your local rivals then fair enough, but it seems a lot of Hull fans aren't happy about this!

The club couldnt offer the lad first team rugby. He then decided to go elsewhere where he will get it. I cannot see why people can blame the club for that.We have better players its as simple as that !!

As for Berro, You could count on one hand the amount of Hookers who would turn down his wages and so we should be able to attract a replacement !!!

I would have got rid of Berrigan, he has one year left and has been a dissapointment to say the least. I see a player going through the motions and OK he is being forced to play in odd postitions, but he still ain't performing and a year from now we will be in the market for a new hooker.



Its laughable and it comes with a whole string of odd and worying decisions from within the FC heirachy.

Thought you didnt go so how you see him????
