I know - but it's precisely because he didn't feature that King got the 29 shirt - the last squad number.

If Raynor was similarly out of favour, I'd have expected him to get a higher number. Any club would expect the 1-13 would have a significant profile during the season, and would issue the squad numbers accordingly. Which is why I think it strange that he was given the 5 shirt if not to figure at least until the trial - Hull therefore being of the assumption that he's innocent until proven guilty and so may be a player after then, too.

If the rumours about him never playing again are true, then Hull either expect him to go down and are washing their hands, or there's something else more recent that we don't know about yet. In either case, why give him the 5 number?

Still the best winger at the club and still a very good player who any team would miss imo. If all the rumours are true then what a fool he's been.

Apparently so. It's a shame because personally I think he is still one of the best British wingers around but he has had plenty of chances so he can have no complaints.

Maybe his salary is not as big as people may think. Why else would he even contemplate doing the naughty things he is accused of, other than to make ends meat.

sheer greed is at the root of his current predicament. If found guilty, then he deserves everything he gets, and I for one won’t lose too much sleep over the guy.

Nothing at all, but then again there is nothing wrong with been realistic either. If he is to leave the club early, could it be a sign that they are preparing early for the inevitable?

The phrase 'if fit' is the crucial one. He isn't currently, and maybe the prognosis is that he won't be match fit until around the time of his court case. There may also be other factors in play that are not in the public domain.

The club may not have finalised anything yet. And they will have to be very careful of releasing any statement that might conceivably impact on his impending court case. Better to say nothing until everything is cut-and-dried and run past the legal team.

He has denied the allegations against him and is of course innocent until proven guilty. However I think we all know the club is likely to sack him if he is convicted and certainly if he is sent down.

His April trial date has been known since September. What has happened since then to change things? Is there something else we don't know about, as alluded to by The Brother?

Believe me nothing has been sorted with Raynor at the moment and nothing will be before April. Actually the club are being as supportive as they can.
Obviously the club will have reason to offload him if the worst happens but why make problems for themselves whilst the guy is still innocent.

I don't think this rumour is all to do with his impending court date, I believe it's been the way he has conducted himself in pre-season. I believe he may have been a silly boy once again.

Ability never been in question for me, application yes, he lets himself down way too often and has had enough chances on a test players wage time to part ways for me, on top of his injuries aswell a luxury we can't afford to carry imo

You could say every player let themselves down last year so why is he any different ?

When your on a good behaviour order for a year, thats exactly what it means you have to be whiter than white(no pun intended)

no fall foul of the law within months publicly, plus any internal matters he has done as well

If he is fit and available for selection then he should be selected (Dont know anything about any other problems?) If he is found guilty then he should be sacked and sent on his way. None of this "served his time so he should be allowed to play for us bollox either". Yes we lose a player and yes he may get picked up by another club but we need to be strong on these things and send a message to our current players and any future players that illegal activities that have a negative impact on the club will not be tolerated under any circumstances.

I agree the club wont be happy about the unwanted extra publicity come April but when you say other internal matters what kind of things are these ? What can he have done already during this pre season training considering he aint even training !!
