Even though that was not what was said or implied but don't let that stop you licking @r5e, you do it so well.'"
Aah, losing the argument so the personal insults start.
You said
Quote: Bombed Out "And realistically relegation was a possibility that year and had London and Bradford not been in their critical situations,so who knows what would have happened, thankfully we survived.'"
Which - forgive me - isn't very well worded. You appear to say that had London and Bradford not had a worse season than us then [ipossibly[/i we could have been relegated. That is the same as saying that if we had a better season than Hull KR and Salford we'd possibly have finished ninth. We were only a point behind them two so you could even say that either of [ithose[/i could have 'possibly' have been relegated.

| Quote: Bombed Out "Again for the slow amongst you I said POSSIBILITY how is that the same as saying 'we would' it simply isn't but that would not suit you're 'always right' attitude now would it?
You and MMJ are 2 peas in a pod.
Read it again if you're struggling to comprehend basic English.
I await your condescending smug reply as always, people like you can never help yourselves.'"
There was no condescending comments from me in the first place.
I can comprehend basic English (now that's condescending ).
Your comment of "Realistically relegation was a possibility" is a bit of paradox. Was it realistic we could have been relegated or was it merely a possibility.
Irrelevant really, as it was not a realistic situation. It was a possibility that any one of the teams in the league could have been relegated when the season started. It turned out to be London and Bradford that season. Hull ended up 12 points off the nearest relegated side. Therefore it was neither realistic or a genuine possibility with a month left of that season.
People like you have a glass which has never seen any liquid, let alone be only half empty. Still you pretend everything is doom and gloom.
HTH (oh, yes, now, that is very condescending, isn't it)

Does anyone have any data on how many swallows it takes to make a summer?

Agreeance is a word that seems to be continually reinvented and recycled. The term first appeared in the 16th century and enjoyed its greatest popularity in the 18th and early to mid-19th centuries. Since then it has fallen into disuse. Most likely unaware of the word's history, modern writers who recoin the term seem to like how it sounds, even though it adds nothing in meaning to its workhorse counterpart, agreement. The suffix ‐ance indeed is used in English to form many nouns from verbs: for example, appearance, acceptance, performance, and remittance. So while there is no rule preventing the formation agree + -ance, the coinage may sound quaint or pretentious to some people.

Isn't that a bit twee, considering you defended Bumpy and were in agreeance with him. It's what happens on this forum, you read a post and agree or in your case generally disagree. Up beat, downbeat???? No need for insults, name calling. A little bit of relaxation is required from both camps, we're all FC fans, supporters, aren't we???????

| Quote: Mild mannered Janitor "Concert tickets for a popular act are £40-£50'" Indeed they are, but staging a concert is a little more costly than sticking a few posts up at either end of the ground?
Quote: Mild mannered Janitor "Theatre tickets for a show are £50+'" Indeed, and, as above, the production costs are a lot higher
Quote: Mild mannered Janitor "Premier League football £40+'" Agreed, and I wouldn't pay that either
Quote: Mild mannered Janitor "Advance purchase for non members at the KC for a Hull FC game are £21. If you consider that too much for top flight sport, then you are living in the wrong era.'" "Top Flight", I think we're deluded if we think SL is anything other than a parochial local sport.
Quote: Mild mannered Janitor "If you go to a sporting event, which you consider already over priced, with the anticipation of reasonably priced and good food then you are also living in the wrong country.'" That's the problem, people put up with it so behaviour never changes.
Quote: Mild mannered Janitor "Name one stadium in the UK where you would go for good food at a reasonable price?'" As above, it's like motorway services, us Brits accept that the food is going to be rubbish but some still keep shelling out for it.

| Quote: EASTCOATSTFC2016 "It's simply too expensive for a lot of people, it isn't worth £20+ for 80 minutes with no decent catering on offer either.'"
Is this Standee?
Decent catering? Is this the most snobbish RL post ever? Most people eat before going to an 8pm game, I certainly do.
And no, it's NOT expensive. Cinema is now around a tenner (and the catering is poor there, y'know) Football is £40 and over and nowhere near as entertaining.
Even when we have a "low" attendance, most clubs in the game would kill for a 9,000 gate, or even an 8,000. The club can work on getting more bums on seats with giveaway tickets, but the reality is that the team have to perform consistently to build that core-support to 12,000.

| What I'm enjoying the most about this new Standee alias is that upon signing up he spelt his username incorrectly as "EASTCOSTFC", and now after I assume submitting a request to correct it with Admin, it's now "EASTCOATSTFC".
