Having lost Manu and missed out on Chase, Paea, Amor, Whitehead/Bateman I hope next season the club will conduct the business of player contracts and signings in private rather than McRae telling us who we are going to be signing.

I know we rightly criticised the previous regime for not telling us anything but I think the publicity over our transfer targets has damaged our prospects of signing at least some of them.

I for one am happy to wait until a new player has signed on the dotted line before hearing about it.

Find this hard to believe. Hudge will not (rumoured) discuss Scott Taylor with us, but is happy to accept £150k for golden boy Dobson. Decent player with a good kicking game but not worth £150k on top of what he would demand in salary.

I dont recall McRae mentioning anything about Bateman, Whitehead and Amor in the media. Those names have been mentioned here, and then because we havent signed them, people are slagging the club!

1. I am sure I remember him talking about Paea and Amor but please don't ask me for a link.

2. I do criticise him for going public about what great form Manu was in and how we were going to tie him down to a contract for the rest of his career etc when surely it would have been better to negotiate privately with him and his agent.

Another one you can add to that is Taylor.... From a family member, Hull have never made an approach for him! I find it amazing how peoples talk of a good player that 'maybe' available or 'would be' a good acquisition. Turns into a failing on the clubs behalf!!

If Rovers wouldn't sell us Taylor (and I don't know whether or not we bid for him) I can't see them selling us Dobson.

Dobson has longer left to his contract than Taylor.

He would be harder for them to replace than Taylor.

He is their talisman and selling him to us would be unacceptable to their supporters.

However I don't think he would be a bad signing at all. He is better than any half back currently at our club.

I don't think he is too similar to Holdsworth. I think Holdsworth is more similar to Blake Green than to Dobson. I think they would go well together behind our pack with our new back line outside them.

All true but Dobson may well have become too expensive for the financially struggling dobbins. If Taylor stays they will at least get a cheap year out of him.

Forums are split as per the topic of discussion, (on here it's Hull FC) not for that particular teams supporters. We're free to discuss whatever club we like, as long as it's on the correct forum.
