Saying "it's obvious he hasn't got a clue" is pretty hard to substantiate

I am sure he knows a lot more about rl than most of us. Where i think he is failing is in motivational techniques.
The game plan and team he picks is more or less okay I reckon. He has brought the best out of westy for one, and has ditched some players that are obviously no good (and being well paid for being average).

I would just like the players to share his passion, and I wonder if he can get it across

He's made some extremely basic errors, both from a playing point of view, team selction POV and man magement POV. He keeps on making the same errors and the team keeps on playing crap because they aren't motivated nor bothered to play for this out of depth 'coach'
That IMO substantiates that he hasn't got a clue..and frankly his actions/inactions speak volumes about his utter lack of coaching knowledge/ability..

We can all have our views on team selection tbh, but I am interested in your other two claims !!

"Playing point of view" - poor use of interchanges e.g. not bringing on Rankin and Sa against Bradford until late in the game. In the away game at Salford not bringing on Feka until the second half and then, although he was the best prop, dropping him for the next match.

"man management" - bawling out players who he thought had a poor game or made a mistake in front of the group (this was told to me by a current first team player).

Those are "team selection" aren't they ? he covers those as his third point.

The two examples I gave were manifestly not "team selection". Team selection means who is in the 17 man squad and in what positions. The examples I gave are clearly different.

Indeed. In fact publicly criticising individual players in the media is probably even worse than bawling them out in front of their team mates. A good man-manager can talk to the press about individual errors without "naming names".

A professional rugby league environment is different to the average workplace. There seems to be a lot of people on here who know the first team environment at Hull inside out despite not being in any position to do so. To be honest I get a bit sick of one pontification after the next deriding Radford's man management capabilities from people who can only be clueless on the subject in reality.

We can all see deficiencies in selection, tactics, structure and the basic skill levels of certain players. All of that is fair game for criticism so why people feel the need to take a punt on the way Radford manages individuals when they have no first hand experience of it whatsoever is beyond me. As has been demonstrated on this thread other coaches in the league do the same things that Radford has done in the media. Wane at Wigan publicly berates his team regularly. If players don't like it then play better - some players like Ellis, Westerman and alike rarely if ever suffer from criticism - maybe that's because they don't deserve it where others do.

There have been a number of extensions and signings recently. If the place was such a nightmare to work at players would be looking to get out not the other way around.

Having never worked with Radford I cant personally comment on his man management skills. However if an established first team player tells me he thinks Radford's man management skills are poor then I'm entitled to post it and in doing so cannot sensibly be accused of pontificating - especially by someone who has no more first hand experience on the subject than I do.
