I do think we need a world class scrum half, every team does. Though you can count on one hand the number of world class SH in the RL world and Long is the only one in the UK. Long is a start. I fear possibly like you that we will rest on our laurals for 2 years and not bring anyone through. But given your apparent knowledge you will also know that it takes more than just one player to make a team as I have stated.

I believe the club has 4 houses in total, as investments, none of which have been included in the past caps, Danny Tickle is I know in one, they pay a peppercorn rent I believe.

What's he going to coach them to do? Drink, gamble or womanize? I think he's capable of being what we need on the field, but certainly not a coach to act as a role model for the kids.

Everyone who has lived life and is male has probably had periods in their teens / twenties when they have drunk and womanised even Wayne Bennett ( I don't know this for ceratin but I am sure he has not been a wall flower all his life). I would suggest that his wisdom and experience will assist him in helping players to see the error of their ways. You can't kid a kidder and all that.

He has been there and done it and worn the t shirt several times and I am certain that providing he has learnt from that experience he will be an ideal coach.
