You have a different idea of professional then.

Or is my understanding wrong'"
I think he cant officially come off it until that contract expires though according what ive read on here meaning that Nov 2010 would be when he can. If its not that way and he can come off when he applies and during his last year of a contract then that changes things drastically.

Not a problem, my opinions differ with many on here, especially when it comes to the professionalism of the running of the club. It's down to experience, if you've only ever worked in one area/arena than you have different perceptions than if you've had more varied experiences, doesn't make either wrong or right.

| I can see the argument for him not revealing all as people's careers are being discussed, but if that's the case, surely a better answer would have been
"We are considering the options for our quota players for 2010 and will make an announcement in due course"
No indication of the status of the quota, full or not and doesn't leave anything open to interpretation. Stating that the quota is not full leads to threads like this discussing Moa, Berrigan, Manu et al.

You do know he is the CEO of a multi-million pound company dont you? He'd be well within his rights not to bother replying personally at all IMO. Which part of his response is not correct by the way?

Spot on, but then he would have been slated for not giving us anything!
Think this site is out of date a little but looks clear the way that theyve done it:

Its not correct because he has neither said nothing or said something if that makes sense.
I do know what role he has, i also know that in that role he has a responsibility to communicate openly and honestly with fans, players, staff etc and that he hasnt from what he has replied imo. (most respectable CEO's do reply to customers letters and emails even if they have no involvement in that reply!)

Isn't that similar to Wigans "adjusting of contracts to sign a 20 odd players and stave off relegation a couple of years back", and didnt the RFL take a dim view of it?

I have worked in many verticals around the world for local, European and global organisations in senior executive positions. I have personal experience of people wanting to know things that it is not always possible to tell them. Worst still, often if they are told certain things they can find it totally unpalatable. People like James Rule have to make difficult decisions but, unlike many of us, he has to make these decisions under intense scrutiny from his paying public. What is absolutely impossible for him (and yours and mine exchanges here are living proof) is to satisfy everyone's different needs. I personally want to know what the long-term vision is for the club and the strategies that will get us there - I think that that ought to be straightforward without giving us the plans and day-to-day tactics that will get us there. I can't imagine I'll hear that any day soon. Who knows he might be able to tell us about the quota issue because it's just a matter of Manu coming off quota at the end of this year.

Not in matters of a confidential nature he doesn't.
What he has said is "correct" as far as we know.
