used to have limited regard for City because they were from Hull, now, I hope they dont win a game.

Sadly it seems Dr A is too busy fighting battles in his own mind to actually concentrate on the job in hand. The whole debacle over JW followed by the very late request for us to move Friday's match and now this. For a supposed successful businessman he is very short sighted.

City knew they were the favourites for promotion over the past two or three weeks. A civic reception in whatever form must have been thought about. Lets face it the authorities needed to be aware. There should have been mention of when and where last week in order for fans to be able to make plans. Most I would assume would have expected an open top bus parade culminating at a council premises be it the KC or City Hall.
What they get is 24hrs notice and lots of posturing. Frankly pathetic.

I genuinely feel for all the loyal City fans who have missed out on what all the other fortunate fans who's team have been promoted will be enjoying.

I wish Hull FC well, I wish Hull KR well, I wish the Stingrays well, I'm from Hull, why wouldn't I? Anyone who wishes ill on another sporting club in this great city of ours is either very dim, or is simply very bitter.

I'd rather have seen an event in Hull tonight, but I understand Assem's reasons for not wanting those clowns Brady or Geraghty to try and take any credit and as it turned out, it was a decent night.

I wish your lads well for the rest of the season and if you ever want to pop on our boards at any point, then you're more than welcome, nobody will threaten to ban you, we tend to be reasonably grown up.

Those are, on the who,e, reasonable comments. However, to suggest the City forum (the one linked earlier I this thread, of which you appear to be a forum member) is reasonably grown up is a contradiction in terms judging by some of the ill informed and insulting posts on there.

I have no idea what Brady and the councils view point will have been, but I cannot see how they could claim any sort of credit for City's success. Allam not having the civic reception has denied some local businesses from an unexpected pay day. Yet isn't this the very thing he claims to want to instigate?

I was not surprised at the low turn out,when they couldn't sell out a game of the magnitude of saturday says to me that the KC is more than big enough to cope with demand,apart from Man Utd and Liverpool and maybe the opening game i can't see city having a sell out crowd.

especially when, after 6 games in, they're at the foot of the table and Bruce walks into the sunset, like he has so many times.

Must have reduced the capacity then by 1500 as the att. was 23812 and capacity was 25404.
