Johnson's a far better player than Aspinwall, a hell of a lot younger too, which is probably the reason for his inconsistency. Another one that Gentle can coach, which is what he wanted.

aspinwall wasn;t brought in as a 1st choice prop though. For me, johnson doesn't have the physique to be a dominant front rower

Only Lynch & O'Meley are our dominant front rowers, the others rely on other aspects. Watts' is the offload and Johnson's is more of a step at the line to land on the front.

It's no more complicated than that.

He's a forward that relies on late foot movement at the line, this is easier on the firmer pitches. Bull dozing players isn't his game, and it never was at Wakey. People are blaming him for not being something he never was in the first place.

No one's blaming him for anything, merely stating that he isn't the forward we need. He replaced moa and we are much weaker up front as a result

I would rather have experienced, quick and impact players. Impressive is not a word I would use to describe a subs bench that contains not a single first choice player.

More that we've actually had them running at the opposition instead of standing still and just passing the ball

I'd say impressive because Green and Bowden seem to be our only forwards that make some kind of impact on the defensive line. I'm looking forward to seeing them both today.
