Quote: easthull fc fan "The stay away fans will come back in dribs & drabs, the team is worthy of more fans at the minute, they are playing how the glory supporters want them to, so no reason not to have a few more through the turnstiles.'"

That's the problem the season does not last a minute though does it?
And after years of dross some fans are harder to win back.

We must all be glory supporters by your reckoning then, including yourself, as I'm very happy at the way they've played over the last 3 games so let's hope it's not short lived. Too many false dawns for some too.

I think a glory supporter only turns up for finals personally and if that is the case then it's up to the coach and players to ensure we compete, they enjoy what they see win or lose but are entertained enough to want more.
That's how we will increase our fan base.
Fickle maybe but that's sport in general and not generic to Hull.

The fact is there isn't some large cohort of people acting as a hive mind of "stay away supporters" who'll reappear. Past core fan base (passholders) you get plenty who'll say "they're doing alright at the minute, shall we go?" when they see a game advertised. These are the people AP needs to target with ticket offers.

I went to my first FC game on a ticket offer, spent a couple of years going to the odd game, and then have been a passholder for a good few years now. Newcomers need to be encouraged to give it a chance, the glass half empty stay away supporters won't be talked into anything and we probably need to do more than string a few wins together to bring them back.

It's simply too expensive for a lot of people, it isn't worth £20+ for 80 minutes with no decent catering on offer either.

Concert tickets for a popular act are £40-£50

Theatre tickets for a show are £50+

Premier League football £40+

Advance purchase for non members at the KC for a Hull FC game are £21. If you consider that too much for top flight sport, then you are living in the wrong era.

If you go to a sporting event, which you consider already over priced, with the anticipation of reasonably priced and good food then you are also living in the wrong country. Name one stadium in the UK where you would go for good food at a reasonable price?

Quote: Bombed Out "Ffs can we give the let's all have a go at knockers thread a miss for a change.
And realistically relegation was a possibility that year and had London and Bradford not been in their critical situations,so who knows what would have happened, thankfully we survived.

I thought this might have been a positive thread for a change.

All we need to do is enjoy our little bubble whilst it lasts and if and when it does pop it's not a dire performance that has defined our recent history.
With positive performances irrespective of being on the right side of the scoreline all the time this should bring the feel good factor and fans back that have been missing for too long now.'"

Thats a little like saying, if other teams had not been better then us, we would have won the league.

It's not though is it?

Had we been 2nd or 3rd that season in a close finish I'll give you that but we weren't.

You've also taken it out of context to suit as it was a comment towards another poster in conversation.

I did also had 'possibilty' which is true. And as stated if London had been able to recruit and not field a reserve team and Bradford likewise without a points reduction who knows what would have happened as without any constraints we were marginally better. All ifs and buts now.
So don't really see your issue.

You basically said that we would have been relegated had there not been teams much worse than us, so yes - it's exactly the same.

I never understand why people want to make this argument. It's pure nonsense for any sport structured into leagues.

Again for the slow amongst you I said POSSIBILITY how is that the same as saying 'we would' it simply isn't but that would not suit you're 'always right' attitude now would it?
You and MMJ are 2 peas in a pod.
Read it again if you're struggling to comprehend basic English.
I await your condescending smug reply as always, people like you can never help yourselves.
