Our poor form has caused people to worry unnecessarily imo. There is still a big gulf in class. We can afford to rest the likes of Pryce, Minichiello and Houghton and still win pretty easily.

Wakefield, Rovers and Salford will all win without getting out of 2nd gear too.

The best we can hope for in this situation is a good performance without busting any players, no good racking up a shed load of points if we pick up needless injuries trying to get invovled in a war of attrition.
Play smart, use our fitness/speed and know-how to bully them from the off and hopefully their heads will go down and the 2nd half is a more about making sure the players aren't overly extending themselves..

I get your point, but this blase over confidence is misplaced. We should not take this for granted. We are not playing well, we are bottom 4, and we could lose.

It's not overconfidence, it's squad rotation. We have 32 players in our squad (I know they are not all currently available) and they are all supposedly Superleague standard. We are coming off the back of the Easter period, we have two vital home games coming up and we have some guys who to me look like they need a break. I don't want wholesale changes. We can afford to rest a handful of guys as long as the ones who do play turn up with the proper mindset.

We are in close proximity in the table, but Wakefield are a really poor team. It's 28-16 now and I expect the gap to be closer to 30 by the end.

As bad as our attack is we have a strong set of forwards and will just overwhelm Sheffield.

Fax gave them a game for 50 minutes, but ultimately the superior fitness, size and speed told. I'm sure it will be a similar story of Sunday.

Exactly, players should be told in no uncertain terms that we need to respect them for the full 80 minutes but make sure we attempt to blow them out of the water in the first 20-30 minutes. Spreading it all over the park and make them run their booty's off (Sheffield's) will do a lot to limit any potential banana skin situation and enable some players to be taken off for longer if their forwards are knackered.
They've had a full week to recover but our lads have had a full 9 days (pertaining to those playing) so there should be no excuses that they are tired etc.

If we were talking about rotating in untested 17 year olds I could see the trepidation but Turgut, Abdul and BTW are hardly spotty-faced youths. I think we could could put them in without fear.

I can understand Radford's position. He is desperate, and knows going out of the cup against a lower league side would be a disaster. Our attack has been abysmal, so I can also see the benefit in going all out to try destroy them by 60 points and give everyone a good confidence boost.

But for me, we are coming off the back of 3 games in 8 days and whilst we have had 8 off since there were guys who looked out in their feet against Widnes. Huddersfield will be playing a full strength team regardless. Rest Minichiello, Pryce, Houghton and maybe put Westerman and Paea on the bench and limit their game time. Then we can bring them all back refreshed next week to really take the game to Hudds in what is a really important match.

Not only that but we are always hearing how good the youngsters are (indeed we have seen it for ourselves). What does it say if Radford won't even select a handful of them to play against a part time team? To me it says Radford has little confidence in them, and more importantly little confidence in himself.

In general I think backs should be OK playing lots of game time unless carrying injuries. But forward defo need more rest so yea would rest mini and maybe westerman
