If we can get Jeddars back on the park for Leeds, I'd like to see Rapana go to 1, Hardaker back to centre. Pryce to 6, Cust and Amir swapping at 9.
Rapana Briscoe/Barron Hardaker Litten Martin Pryce Sezer Ese'ese Amir Aydin Cartwright Chamberlain Asiata Subs Ashworth Knight Watts/Eseh Cust
The problem for me with that is, I don't want a competitor like cust sat on the bench. It's better for us that he's on the field. He can still jump in there during the game if need be. Cust and Sezer have gone OK for us so far this season. It's not an area of our team that needs changing at the moment. Pryce had a stinker last game, but stinkers do happen. I don't see why Cust needs to be dropped to the bench just because Pryce had a stinker. Let’s be honest Pryce wasn’t the only one who had a bit of a shocker. Think he probably was trying too hard against his old club. Also don’t think the minutes the likes of Ese’ese, Knight, Asiata and Bourouh has been helping either. Would like to see us use Balmforth a little more to give Bourouh a breather. With Ese’ese, Knight & Asiata we’re up against it a little due to injuries and having to counteract that we simply have no 2nd row options. Still think we are way ahead of where we expected to be but that down to the work put in by Cartwright and his staff and the players who’ve bought in to what is asked of them. Leeds will be a tough one and one if I’m honest I’m not expecting much out of. Hopefully the weekend off game wise has helped them reset and recover a little bit.

| Need Holmes and Cartwright to have really strong 2nd half of the season. Good chunk of cap and a quota spot been wasting currently.

| I'd have been disappointed with a loss a mo th or so ago, but think Leeds are really finding their feet a bit now. Still look a bit off in attack but they have really tightened their defence this year, we might struggle to break them down if Sezer, Asiata, Pryce are off their games. Should be a close game and if we can massively improve our discipline and ball retention we have a good chance of winning, but also no shame in losing this one. However as we will likely be battling for similar league position as Leeds, it's a game we really need to be targeting and picking up a win.

| Sounds like Fash is back in the reckoning for Friday which will be a positive. Fash was rightly criticised last season but this season under Cartwright he’s done a decent job. Whilst we are without any 2nd rowers of note having Fash back gives us the option of putting Hardaker back at centre where he is much more affective. Having to have had to move him to 2nd row we certainly lose quite a bit without Hardaker at centre. Something I never expected to say when his signing was announced but happy he proving a good and valuable signing.

Might be worth resting Martin having Briscoe and Barron on the wing, if Barron is fit.

John Cartwright has named a 21-man squad ahead of Friday’s Betfred Super League Round 11 clash with Leeds Rhinos, in association with Jadan Press.Fresh from a rest weekend, Hull FC return to action at AMT Headingley Stadium on Friday night, knowing that a win would see the Black & Whites leapfrog the Rhinos in the Super League table. Cartwright has made two changes from the 21-man squad that was named for FC’s last outing, as Matty Laidlaw and Will Kirby drop out of the side. Brad Fash has been back in full training this week and he could mark his comeback from a calf injury at Headingley. Young halfback Jack Charles also comes into this week’s 21-man squad. Ligi Sao (knee), Jed Cartwright (hamstring), Jordan Lane (arm), Oliver Holmes (knee), Ryan Westerman (ankle) and, Liam Watts (calf) all remain sidelined for the Black & Whites. The full 21-man squad can be found below:
1 – Jordan Rapana 2 – Harvey Barron 3 – Zak Hardaker 4 – Ed Chamberlain 5 – Tom Briscoe 6 – Will Pryce 7 – Aidan Sezer 8 – Herman Ese’ese 9 – Amir Bourouh 13 – John Asiata 14 – Cade Cust 16 – Yusuf Aydin 17 – Jack Ashworth 19 – Brad Fash 20 – Davy Litten 22 – Lewis Martin 23 – Logan Moy 24 – Jack Charles 25 – Denive Balmforth 39 – Sam Eseh 40 – Liam Knight

Good point think I'd go Barron and Briscoe and put Briscoe opposite Ryan Hall who I thinks being played right wing this season, can see Fash playing 2nd row alongside Hardaker with Chamberlain on the bench, I'd start Eseh too. How would this work with players playing out of position for a set period ie Hardaker & Chamberlain , Backs playing in forwards positions .Also we have now started having longer matches , These new rules are governed in minuets so this could have an impact further into the season .

| We really could do with a win on Friday night. Mainly because we need to pick up that early season momentum again. We don't want to find ourselves back in the all too familiar scenario of a losing run. This is the knock-on effect of that damaging defeat at Magic weekend. Losing to Wigan and rovers could have been written off if we'd beaten Huddersfield, but we let ourselves down two weeks ago, for possibly the first time this year. We've put ourselves under unnecessary pressure now, if we can get back on track starting Friday night we can dismiss the Huddersfield defeat as a one-off, but lose and we'll be seventh after the weekend and starting to look desperately for where the next win is coming from. Don't know what to make of Leeds so far. They've been very hit and miss in a number of games. Beat Wigan, maybe should have beaten rovers, but in other matches they've looked a little dull and uninspiring to me. Their game at Magic against Saints seemed to sum them up, they looked like they were going to blow Saints off the park in the first twenty minutes but by the end seemed relieved when the final hooter sounded. If we can see some improvement in our discipline (keeping 13 on the pitch for the full 80 would be a start!) and we can complete our sets to a high percentage, I think we can put some pressure on them and hopefully Asiata and Sezer can ask some probing questions of their defence. In the past we've had a habit of being flat after a week off so hopefully JC has used the time to get them primed and ready for this one. These games against the mid-table pack will likely go a long way to determining how our season ultimately pans out, top six or bottom four. Hoping we pick up the early season thread again with this one. Think it will be a good atmosphere on the Western terrace. Let's make some noise like we did at Wire a few weeks back.
