Probably why Tony Smith is reshaping the pack with at least three and possibly five new players coming in for 2024.

Savelio does, but he is leaving. As mentioned above, seems Smith is trying to address it by the type of forward signings.
I like Cator as a defensive player and I'd have him as a squad player, but I'd be looking at ways of putting a more attacking player at 13 next year, apart from Wakey, id say we have the worst attacking LF in the league, maybe if we sign more attacking forwards, we can carry a LF that is there to defend, but I'd like to see someone who makes breaks and acts a link up player like other LF's do. He has been like this since he signed and hoped he would develope some kind of threat with the ball, but I'm yet to see it.

Tend to agree with your points Dave, though I do wonder if it's been in the main down to having to have a LF play that way due to the inadequacies in the forwards over the past few seasons?

Maybe, just watched Smith yesterday and it made me think about Cator, I couldn't think of a try or a assist he had made, then I couldn't think of a line break, so looked at his stats. Pretty poor attacking wise in 19 games
no tryst
no assists
1 Clean break
7 tackle busts (Smith made 11 yesterday)
4 offloads.
Then looked at other LF's, Smithies, Garcia, Knowles, Asiata, Partington, Smith, Westermann, Minchella, Pitts, Yates and Crowther.
How many of these is Cator better than, you would maybe have him over Crowther and Pitts, but thats about it.

would say its more to do with us not actually having a loose forward at the club ready for first team football.
Cator,Fash,Lane, and Houghton have all been used there to no effect.
Its a position no one seems to think about anymore but where we are sadly lacking.
Westerman for all his faults could still do a job for us at 13

Just think it's the game evolving again with the 13 role. Back when the wrestle was king teams just ran with an extra prop at 13.
Not sure if it's the 6 again or coaches changing style but a ball handling 13 has come back into fashion.
I'd love a Cam Smith style 13 at the club. He's got it all

| Leigh look flat so far. Is that skinny squad and the cup win going to scupper any playoff hopes?

| Pretty terrible by Leigh so far and with a few things going against them. Wouldn't rule them out though if they can get a try soon, although it doesn't look like happening at the moment.

| That's ridiculous. Offside player within the 10 and a clear knock on from 2 players!
Leigh have been awful but Jesus christ they're getting absolutely mugged off all game.

Leigh have been rotten along with the officials. Worst game I've seen all season.

| Watching this tonight, you wonder how much Leigh have left in the tank for this season?
Let's face it, if there's one fan base who know just how much a Wembley victory can take all the wind out of a team's sails, it's us!!!
They've done wonders this year, but they look to be running on empty right now, understandable really given the emotion of two weeks ago. Again, we should know better than most how this feels.
As for rovers, will this reignite their season I wonder? They've been flat and low on energy for a couple of months now, and tonight may be just an element of revenge, but they've looked a good deal more committed than of late.
One thing's for sure, with Salford and rovers winning tonight, we simply have to win tomorrow, otherwise we will probably have too much to turn over in the closing weeks.

| Thought it was a pretty poor game, not helped by Leigh looking like they’re paying for not rotating their 17 more often and having a small squad. Thought Rovers got just about all the decisions tonight too.
