Duffen was sent dates by the RL and refused to confirm that any of them were avilable because he did not know what the Football fixtures were! he said h he had already asked the FL to avoid Clipper weekend and HUll Fair and it appeared by that , that he was not prepared to ask for another dispensation for a RL interational!

Which is completely fair, the operational rules in Football are strict for a reason, if he's already had dispensation twice then why should he ask again, there are plenty of other venues for international games.

In the FOOTBALL season the FOOTBALL club is the most important tenant, like we are during the RUGBY season.

If he did go I dont think there would be too many tears shed !!!

Surely City's major problem with the premier league are the actual games they have to play. The odd abandonment or two would simply have been a save facer

There has been so much unsubstantiated garbage about City on these forums over the years it's untrue.

I think its all to do with when a stadium hosts a RL international the gate receipts (or large percentage )go to the RL and not in this case to Duffens company. Duffen would only make a profit on drinks, food etc.
Therefore he really cant be bothered going out of his way to make sure the Stadium hosts a fixture which is a poor show really as although it wouldnt make him a fortune surely as the gaffer of a sports stadium he needs to take into consideration fans of the sport.

The RFL would pay a fee to host the game, and quite a large one at that, Duffen will have made his decision based on operational requirements.

Of course there is an element of what I say in the decision of if he wants to host one or not. Money makes the world go round im afraid. The gates receipts do go to the RFL and if this fee that you mention was that large it would gained his attention.

If FC or City play in his stadium he is on a win/win situation likewise if he organises a concert of some kind.
Obviously the fact someone else wants the gate receipts for an event
means he lost interest before even asking the fans opinion.

I think its more the case they he is at the helm of a company who have to share a stadium. Duffen would love it if he and City has sole access to the ground.

Only as a Premier League side, they couldn't afford it if they dropped a division or two.

What problems, plenty of clubs ground share with other sports and if a date is already pencilled in and pointed out to the premier league they would make sure the fixtures are changed to suit.

We already get similar with Manchester United and Man City with the PL making sure home games are not at the same time or same day. Same with Everton Liverpool.

Not sure thats correct as FC must give his stadium company around 40 percent of its income.
I just think hosting a RL International would probably be a good will gesture to international RL fans during which his company could see them making very little profit or even a small loss and he aint prepared to think of the fans first for once and do this !

Recruitment requires money, if all you ever do is loan players then you are asking for it.

Duffen isn't the problem with recruitment Paul.

He offered £12m for Navarro, when he turned them down they signed nobody else and instead sold Turner.

He and Brown are both responsible, Duffen more so as he has thr power to sack Brown but imo is just raking in the money during these two seasons and then will be happy to be a championshipclub again. Stoke spent £18m, City spent next to nothing.
