And as i said yesterday, if FC agreed a new contract with him that expired 2009 rather than 2010 (ie 1 year shorter) it would legally overwrite his existing one. Meaning that when we then agree a new contract with him for 2010-2011 he could come off from the end of this season. Maybe this is what FC are doing.

They will have made sure that teams can't do that, this is the dynamic, forward thinking RFL we are talking about.

It was 9PM last night, someone asked a question, which he took the time to answer and you think he should have spent even more time explaining the how and why when it wasn't even requested?

Surely people can see that it is very difficult to answer this question. Apart from the complexities of the quota system, there are people's careers potentially being discussed here. For all we know there is a quota spot open because Hull is letting a player go and that player either does not know themselves or is in discussions about early release. I am pretty sure that if he alluded to any such thing on this forum before it was settled then the hounds would be after him for a lack of integrity as well as everything else he is accused of.

I wouldn't call not releasing confidential negotiations being secretive. Until something is finalised I think they have every right not to "announce" anything.

Its a big loophole but under contract law they cannot stop a player signing a shorter deal. Would be interesting to see if FC have tried this or are negotiations to try this currently.

From a customer service perspective to the fans there is a bit about always giving more information than is requested to stop further requests on the same issue. He has done exactly the right thing in replying and im not knocking him for that, but he hasnt given a correct and full enough reply for me.

I think he has answered in a professional manner to a private email that has subsequently been published on this forum.

If Manu can apply to come off quota during the last year of his contract then surly he can apply in November of this year, which would then mean we have an extra spot fof next year.
