did he really turn down a Civic reception in favour of that?'"
Where did anyone say he made rational decisions?

If it was 10p it would still be 10p more than the council would've charged anyone wanting to see a parade and a pi[is[/is-up at Guildhall

| This looks like he is showing the middle finger to the Council. He declines their offer of a civic reception therefore depriving the people of Hull who support City, including the ones that cannot afford a season pass or pay to attend games their chance to congratulate the team. Owning the SMC gives him the upper hand to dictate what he does at the KC, one of the reasons why it should not be run by a party with a vested interest in any of the tenants. Hope he is going to cover the cost of sorting out the gridlock on Anlaby Road that will be created tomorrow because of the rush to purchase tickets, rush hour will be interesting.

you quoted me before I'd double checked, they have to have tickets for ground safety, but they aren't charging.

| and of course, when there are 25500 people in the ground, they have to turn people away. In queen Victoria square, more people could have got in to see the team.

and people who aren't City fans may have turned up to congratulate them, a silly dummy spit that shows him up to be petulant.

| Really struggling to get my head round HOW he owns the SMC.
When built the SMC was supposed to be independant of both clubs, to represent the council & community interests, Ensuring revenue raised was sufficient to maintain the stadium.
So now the owner of Hull City gets to dictate ?
IF the SMC was still independant, the council could then offer to sell the stadium & the SMC to any interested buyer, with the necessary covenants. Sounds like a decent business to me.
However, ALLAM can now block sales elsewhere by threatening to remove the main tenant - creating the really unsavoury situation we now have.
Now, did the council deceive us about the role of the SMC at the outset or has it changed in recent years ? Either way some really naive decsion making.
NB - I was a good time fan in the Prem, only struggled for tickets 5 or 6 times in 2 seasons. Second season only about 30% of games sold out.
NNB - whatever happened to the extra 3 - 4 rows at the back of North & South Stand ? Would have added 3,000 fans at modest cost. Perhaps we should have a whipround in exchange for ALLAM handing back the SMC to somebody independant ??

| Like I've said all along - let him buy it for the price of building us a stadium at Costello, he's going to end up with it.

| The SMC has always been owned by the owner of Hull City, it has never been independent, Hull FC were originally offered joint ownership, but rejected it in case the SMC traded at a loss.
Hull City just won promotion and have decided to celebrate at their own stadium and you think that's an odd thing to do? Why on earth would Assem wan to share his achievement with a bunch of clueless local politicians who've spent the last six months slagging him off?
I know you lads are always looking for a conspiracy, but I'm afraid there isn't one here, Hull City are holding a free party at their own stadium(I say free, obviously Assem is paying for it).

On first name terms, are we?
Give it a couple of years and City fans will be baying for his blood.
