Last night was brilliant . It is always great to win a derby . The nilling was extra special .
We can bask in the glory for now .
In the context of SL both sides are way off breaking into the top 4 .
Last night was a " City of Hull " RL Cup final . For SL it was a lower league clash that even Sky ignored.
Bragging rights are ours for now . I will enjoy it .
Then I look at the league table and see the real picture.
I apologise if being a realist is deemed by many on here as being negative .
12th place is not acceptable . Do you all think the players and Coaching staff think it is ? No !!

Posted on the Rovers board that is concerning that a few years ago the Derby was contested by quality NRL/International players like Dobson, Newton, Galea, Fitzgibbon, O'Meley and Tom Briscoe...whereas now apart from a few exceptions its a ragtag bunch of castoffs and unknowns on both sides.

as much as seeing Rovers suffer would be amusing, I'd rather see both teams at the KC contesting a 'top8' derby where both have the chance to make the top4 playoffs in a sell-out ground....than see them both in the 'middle 8' gradually getting worse and worse.

both sides have got to hope that the next generation of youngsters are good, because the days of big name Aussies & Kiwi's coming to improve a side are long-gone.

Last night was great but it will soon be forgotten if we lose badly to Huddersfield and Leeds. I'm not expecting us to win either but I hope we will turn up and really compete with them and use last night to try and build something for next season. However if we get hammered it will be back to square one.

Disagree, last nights game is the biggest money spinner of the year for the club by some margin. Money we can't afford to turn down.

Don't disagree with any of that. Just saying it's odd to be so vocal about every aspect of our shortcomings on a regular basis, yet on a night we deliver a hammering to the team that feature in your sig, all you comment on is their trade-up at halfback.

We all want to win and the club to do well but if you actually watched the game its painting over the cracks.
lots of effort and aggression which forced a very poor performance from HKR.
Some good individual performances as has been said and Heremaia pepped us up a lot when he was on the field.
Joint MOTM for me was Ellis and Watts.
The attack is still dire but you obviously don't see that when your excited

No one is saying this result is meaningful in the context of SL this year. But if you can't allow yourself to enjoy the performance last night and the following week, and reflect on quite a few positives, what's the point in being a "fan"? Exclusively complaining when we win and when we lose is just [upointless[/u.

Attack wasn't dire, in fact we were pretty clinical at times and had it been dire we wouldn't have scored 5 try's. It certainly wasn't amazing, but you might have noticed the weather wasn't great and that would have had a big impact plus next season we will have two new halfs that should improve our attack.

I certainly think there are reasons to be positive about next season after watching our last three home games, recruitment and the young players coming through.

If you want to be part of the Cuddle Crew sheep on here that's fine by me but all I posted earlier were positive meaningful comments about the effort,desire and individual performances, and how I thought Heremaia pepped us up when on the field.
I agree I said we were dire in attack again which is true.We scored 5 tries but when you look at the amount of ball HKR coughed up and our 85% completion against their 50% or so we should have scored a lot more.

I don't see hardly any people on here sticking up for Radford, most in fact gave serious doubts about his coaching ability.

The big difference is they don't go on about it in every single thread, he will be here next season, our Owner who has saved our club from big trouble has told us many times, so why not try and get behind him and the club abpnd see his he does next season.

We SHOULD have scored more points but we played the weather as well,last time we played in conditions like that was at Wembley with "better halfs" and look what happend there.I have serious doubts about Radford but he is going to be here next season with the half back pairing to convert the possesion into pts.If he can get them playing like last night consistently then that will do me me...if he doesn't ,then he deserves the sack,so instead of slagging everything off,why don't you back the team.
