Question is, if Long's fit, does he play? Personally I'd put Long in with Obst on the bench to cover Long/Horne and spell Houghton. Obst looking like decent business on the limited evidence so far.

Nice to finally get two fit half's on the pitch and a decent performance from them both and a platform to build on.

No reason to drop either of them, no way does long come straight in, I've seen more from obst in 2 and half games then I've seen from longy in his whole time here!

Long has to earn his place back IMO, why break up Obst and Horne just are they are starting to gel. Long has done little to nothing for Hull.

Long played well against Rovers creating 3 tries by taking the line on and finding runners. Not too clever against Leeds for 40 minutes. I would play Long and Horne with Obst on the bench and see how that pans out. Not a reflection on Obst - he will offer a different threat off the bench at hooker and cover of the halves.

Back on topic I though Richard's second game back went really well for him, he offered a threat, kicked well and gave Yeaman a try on a plate were he still able to catch a crash ball. Nice to see him holding Martin off for his try as well - looked fairly strong which was encouraging.

Think Both Obst and Horne were superb and looked a great partnership to be fair to them both! Thought hornes short kicking game was nice to see again... well done to both

IMO he's an eighty minute player - best player to come out of Hull for years, future GB/England regular or should be.

We play him for 80mins and he will be shot in 2/3 yrs....doing so well to get included this time round...oh hang on.

Really pleased for Rich last night. Quality performance by a quality player who is also a quality bloke.

Houghton is a good steady player but isn't International Standard as yet. I really wish he would add an offload to his game in the same way that Roby does for Saints. Whilst he looks dangerous at times when he makes those skoots from the PTB it never seems to lead to anything which is a shame. Doing 80 minutes every week wont do him any favours either.

keep last nights pairing together. I may be proven wrong but on the evidence of what I saw, there may be a nice partnership being developed between these two players.

In my opinion, Sean Long when fit, he should have to 'fight' for his place. It is Obst who is in the 'driving seat' @ present & it is his to loose.

horne is class and only 27, 6 good years yet he,ll put his injuries behind him

He's 29 and has been plagued by injuries and illness for the last 4 years. There's also rumours that he's playing through the pain again this season and needs another op. Barring a good showing against the Crusaders, what is your basis for being confident that he'll 'put his injuries behind him'?

wether it be horne and long or horne and obst,its got to benefit the club to have 2 options at last at 7.lets just hope horne can have an injury free season now.

There's no basis to think he's over his injuries... likewise there's no basis to think he'll carry on picking up injuries.

I think most on here are just praying that he does keep free of injuries and from what i hear he brought a lot to our performance on Friday.
