Don't give me that bollox. Agar was an integral part of the coaching setup that employed these players and has worked with them for years. At the start of the season he was giving it large about how we were going to surprise folk.
A glove puppet would get more out of this squad than Agar is managing to do.

people seem to forget he was Sharp's no2 and therefore a big influence on the team, it wasn't like he just got handed a poor squad he knew nothing about, he's been at the club longer than a lot of the team.

| It may be bollox. He may have been an integral part of the the system as 2 IC but I'm sure he did not have the authority to exit players in his position at that time. We will see his metal come the end of this campaign.

| Perhaps the most worrying influence is John from Featherstone.

Agar has extended the contracts of some of the deadwood since he's been in charge. He also knew exactly what he was getting with the squad he 'inherited' and if he didn't feel that he was capable of getting them to perform then he shouldn't have accepted the job.

Unless you're classing Burnett, washbrook and briscoe as deadwood? Oh and probably our best prop before he got injured.

Oh, I haven't seen this one for a while, I've almost missed it.
Yes, boys and girls, the reason Hull FC have been poor and played one-dimensional rugby for the past 3 years is because Jon Sharp was appointed assistant coach less than a year ago. It is absolutely nothing to do with the current head coach who has been at the club for the entire duration of our descent at all. Don't go getting confused now, just keep the faith.

| Kosh, I accept your debate here but the long term strategy must be that Agar is allowed the freedom and decision making to build his own squad for the future. Imagine yourself taking over a squad and building a winning culture that you were happy with, it takes time.

It does take time but a year is more than enough time to have made some progress

I agree changing culture takes time, some 12-18 moths (on my experiences), i would have thought longer with an organisation like Hull...however we have seen no progress whatsoever, in fact we have gone backwards (in my view).
There are no signs (from a playing style, tactical and skills viewpoint) that we are likely to improve under Agar's stewardship. Additionally, as has already been said, it's not like Agar is new to the club either.....he new full well what he was getting when he took over, he should of (by now) made some significant progress.
Two try's against one of the worst defences in the league and another try less half of RL isn't good enough!

| When Rovers gained promotion Justin, at great risk, gave most of the players a season in S/L with a smattering of new signings, he then showed what a good coach he is in that the future of Hull Kingston Rovers is more important than loyalty to players, he said thank you and had a massive clearout of players not good enough for S/L. I believe that this is what Hull FC need, someone who thinks more of the future of your club than that of upsetting a few of his pals. Watching Hull going into freefall, believe it or not, is not something i want to see , competition across the city is good for both clubs. You pay good money and show loyalty to your club, it's about time Hull FC reciprocated.
