I am getting a little irritated now. Why cannot Allam just put in a concrete offer and proposal or shut his mouth? At least then, even the most one eyed fan on either side, could formulate a reasoned decision. Put up or shut up Allam.

So the council own the stadium but employ a company (SMC) owned by Allam to run it?
How long is the contract with the SMC ? Any ideas?

Setting aside all the drama, tantrums and inter-club bickering, this for me is, in the long term the issue that underlies any potential problems.
It is, loosely, a Blairite solution. The orthodoxy is/was that the private sector 'does' risk well. IMO this is in large part, because, unlike the public sector, when things turn sour they can walk away more easily. The motivation of profits plays a role too, but when they become a more distant prospect they prefer not to hang around.
Now [iif[/i the stadium isn't going to be self-sustaining as it ages, the council potentially faces a problem. The way they reacted when the Allam's suggested handing back SMC control [isuggested to me[/i that they didn't fancy it. If it happens, it would primarily be a council problem rather than one for Hull FC, though you might catch a little bit of the splatter.
In a public-private partnership, if there is ever a poop-end of the stick it is invariably the public partner that ends up holding it.
Rovers, Craven Park, North stand, skint etc - similar thing.
If they share my view, and they very well may not of course, I expect the council would actually like to transfer ownership fully. For a whole host of reasons they can't give it away, so I suspect they're going to be denied that opportunity.

| The stadium is easily capable of generating sufficient profit to cover upkeep and repairs however the previous 2 owners haven't seen fit to do so and allam is now using this as bargaining chip in his quest for the site.
As I've said many times, I think he'll get it at some point and the response from brady indicates that the council are willing to sell if the price is right. it would be a dark day for our club if it does happen and any lease agreement we have would be inconsequential if he wanted us out

Its going to get very messy for Allam if he continues to have slanderous comments quoted in the local press. I'd imagine the councils legal teams would have a field day with that article.
The crazy thing is, he continues to state "who would build an extension in a rented property". Well, people who are in business and improve leasehold premises as they see it as a way of maximising a return don't seem to have too much of a problem with it.
Anyway, the good DR (sic) is a man of his word (well unless you worked in the marine engineering industry ) he will soon be taking City to Melton.
PS, how much rent will City be paying for this promotion party

| just watched mr Allam's interview on look north, that man sure knows how to hold a grudge.
saying he doesnt want to buy the kc as the council have discredited him.
more and more people are getting into football and 25,000 seater stadium is not goin to be big enough and sometime in the future hull city will have to move.
rejected hull city councils offer of a civic reception as he feels hull city should celebrate at the kc were the football is played.
i have nothing against hull city but i just dont trust this man at all, he seems to stop at nothing to get his point across that the council wouldnt let him buy the kc, and anyone or anything that is is his way is for it.

He has discredited himself by not having any solid plan.
The thing is, 25k is enough at the moment and until the sold out signs are there on a continuous basis for games against Norwich, Fulham, Southampton etc, there is not need to extend.

Did he say what they're going to do tomorrow night to make it worthwhile 25,000 people turning up, let them in, parade around the pitch a couple of times and then walk off?
did he really turn down a Civic reception in favour of that?

Yes, but its good marketing as all fans who turn up get a free Fez and a map of how to get to Melton

Is Hodgson the new Griffin, or is it all about pace?: |

Certainly sounds like it.
City fans not over impressed either. Selling 25k tickets between 9 and 5 with 12 hours notice hasn't gone down at all well.

| Firstly could the Allams spend some of the £120,000,000 on re-painting over the Leeds colours at the front of the stadium and employ Mcrae to do the work, about time he did a day's work.
By the well done to CityHull

they're not selling them, but it has to be ticketed to manage capacity etc.
Club owner Assem Allam will present the team with their trophy and medals before the players embark on a lap of honour around the ground
A trophy and a medal for getting promoted by Leeds Utd, you couldn't make it up!
