| He's Egypt's answer to David Lloyd and the City fans who chant his name will turn on him before long, there is no doubt about that.

Allam labels councillors "liars and cheats".'"
I still await the HDM and RH's independent and detailed analysis of the proposed property deal and pros and cons.
Originally it was a Sporting Village Gift.
It then reported that the freehold was requested for next to nothing to borrow against to fund the development
It then emerged that rather than Sport as the focus, it's a commercial development centred on supermarkets and shops
So, basically another retail park with Greggs and Carphone Warehouse, sucking more life out of a city centre when shops in Whitefriargate are pulling out.
On land with covenants, preservation orders and royal charters going back centuries
With no reference to the possibility, in a declining retail market, of the council's flagship asset ending up in the hands of administrators if trends moving the retail market online continue in their current trajectory.
I'll not hold my breath. The emotional connection through the success of the football team and inflammatory "done to" language used means these aspects simply won't be examined in a meaningful way. It's taken 48 hours for this to be used as a divisive mechanism by the Allams. Wow.

which is ironic, as they can't get 25,000 to a game regularly.
also, it's Ferriby and Reckitts cup final, how crass to crash it as a promotion party?
he has no shame, but we knew that.

| " Hull, business wise, is backwards. Look at other cities. Look at Leeds, Newcastle and look at Hull. After the M62, the M18, the Humber Bridge, Humberside airport, look what happened. Nothing. We lost business."
If he thinks so little of Hull as a business city then why is he still here?

Thing is, anybody could quite easily post photos showing Leeds & Newcastle as a dump and then a picture of Ferensway at night all lit up and looking pretty.
Suppose it depends what side of the argument you're on.
We could then talk about comparative government investment between the three cities, but you probably wouldn't want to do that either.

| Thing is, he's chosen a picture of Clarence Dock in Leeds. Whilst it looks lovely, the place has been a bit of a white elephant and commercial failure. Recently, the casino there and two pretty decent restaurants closed, and the whole area is a ghost town.
Isn't the picture of Newcastle actually Gateshead?
