I take your point but if Agar gets the boot then who gets rid of the players? Surely a new coach would not have all the facts at his disposal and could end up retaining the bad element.
I think some of the players know they could be in line for the chop and don't like it, hence their poor displays.

If that is the case then Agar should drop them and play the kids.

you mean the players who will knuckle down for a month or 2 and then get contracts extended and then the circle begins again

Yup, spot on Karl.
We keep getting rid of coaches but nothing changes as it's the same players who are lazy and uninterested. At some stage a coach needs to be backed and have a proper clearout.

That's why we need to get one in now. They'll have the rest of the season to see who's worth keeping and who isn't. It's more than obvious from looking at the videos who should be given the chop.
Also, the new coach needs to know that they have the 100% backing of the board to weed out the trouble makers (if there are any). You only need to make an example of one or two players, and the rest will soon fall into line.

That would work providing there is a top coach out there who is willing to come now.

I agree with that. I'm just not sure it should be this coach.

| The club needs a coach who is a leader, not a manager. Somone who doesn't care about upsetting people, someone who will make the hard decisions and stand by them. Someone who rattles cages but who can galvanise the players into an effective unit. We need a massive shake up behind the scenes otherwise the club will slip into obscurity.
I also believe agar isn't the whole problem, however I do believe he is a major part of it. The last thing we needed when sharp left was to appoint someone who already knew and had worked with the players. We need someone fresh to come in who can assess the situation objectively and make tough decisions. We also need them to get the full backing of the board in whatever they want to do.
My concern is that the board don't want to hand over some of their perceived power to a coach and that will always restrict who we can bring in. It's a very short sighted approach and one which will hinder us until we have a change of ownership at the club.

Everyone has their price. We must have a bit of spare cash kicking about this year. Invest in a top class coach who takes no nonsense, and the rest should start to fall into place.

Point taken, as I mentioned in the other thread Agar does himself no favours with some of his decisions and tactics.

I don't disagree, we should have doen this when PS went, in fact we should have kept him until the end of the season then had a clearout of the coaching staff a bit like Hudds have done.
