Give over. There are any number of experienced halfbacks who aren't organisers/controllers, and Horne's kicking game HAS improved. Albeit his long game is still too hit and miss. Again, not every halfback has a quality kicking game. Although Horne's short kicks are usually very good.
He isn't the answer at 7 but at the moment he's better than anyone else at the club. Do we need a new 7? Yes. But in the meantime Horne is a better option than Miller.

For several weeks now, we have seen you and others bleat on about giving Miller a chance, and how if the forwards built him a platform he would show us what he had.
Well after yesterday we now know what he's got. Not much
The platform was built, he had bags of space to operate against a poor team and all he could do was go sideways, give stupid penalties away, and kick poorly.
As has been said by others. Horne is not the future, but he is the best halfback at FC at this time.

He's not able to control a game because that's not his game. Some halves are organisers, some aren't.

| Dykes and Head were both cracking players, but neither could stay fit for more than a couple of games. I'd be more than happy with a half of that quality with a better fitness record.

Let's get one thing straight about yesterday, the forwards were on top and our halves got us to a 16-0 lead. Our forwards then capitulated after two scuffles meaning they lost there heads. Wakey then ran riot.
Why couldn't our forwards stop Moore offloading the ball?
Two of there tries came direct from errors by Talanoa. Why are we so reliant on Joe Westerman both in attack and defence?
Too easy to blame Rankin & Miller for yesterday, I expect Radford will do the same.

I'm not blaming him for the defeat, the whole team is to blame.
What I am saying, is. Against a poor team, and with the space and time he was given, he did nothing to suggest he will be the answer we all crave. IMO.

Rankin was poor, Shaul was poor. Miller wasn't the only one that failed to create. Our wingers got pushed out of touch twice because Shaul threw out stupid balls when there was no overlap.

| Let's hope so, I said at the start of the year that Hull should have gone all out to sign Sam Powell. He is a player to build a team around.

Yes I know, I sat through it. Like I said I'm not blaming Miller, just pointing ou that he hasn't shown (me) anything to suggest he's got what it takes. Rankin on the other hand looks like he may have.

Add Talanoa to that list .
He made a great break and then just threw the ball over his shoulder to no one !
Wakey got possession , went up the other end and scored .

He's shown he'll be a decent halfback one day, but that's not really what we need now. Rankin gets praised but is equally poor, he gets away with it because of his try scoring.
Rankin was Radford's signing so he'll stay, but who we going to get to play alongside him? Wire and (rumour has it) Saints will be in the market for what we need too. Basically, we'll get third choice. Looking at the OOC players for this year and even next, they're either unrealistic or no better than what we've got.
