To be fair mate, Hall is very similar. He's also diamonds and rocks!

Didnt Hall have a mare on the right wing opposite Richards at Wigan? icon_eek.gif

Chance to make amends I suppose.

Quite like Tansey, the fright he gives me is when he runs with the ball wafting it in front of him.

Just watched the derby highlights again on SLTV and Tom Briscoe had no right to make that tackle. And he wouldn't have needed to if Tansey had dealt with the danger of the mid-field bomb leading to up it. That wasn't the only one he missed or didn't attempt to take and any one of them could have proved very costly. He's undoubtedly an exciting talent with ball in hand, but bordering on a liability at times at the back.

No mention of Whiting's two defensive misreads that lead directly to Rovers tries? icon_smile.gif

His tackle on Newton was a shocker. Their first try was caused by Yeaman jumping out of the line, and their last one occurred when the Rovers player stepped between Manu and Houghton, I think.

The point is, Whiting is generally sound defensively. He makes the odd error - everybody does - but Tansey makes far too many. Under the high ball particularly he's inconsistent at best. I think Tansey is an excellent player - he has pace, skill, guile and the ability to produce something from nothing. I just don't think he's a full back.

He is at present our number one attacking weapon and has been involved in some our of most attractive play this season.

I can forgive the odd blunder as he is a risk taker, but he needs to work on his concentration (such as the stray pass to Whiting in the derby).

All in all though he's been a breath of fresh air and I'm glad he's at the club.

Quote: Staffs FC "I agree with all of that and was calling for it as soon as Long was hurt. This idea he needs 'freedom at fullback' I don't think washes really - get the ball in his hands in the halves and remove his requirement to catch high balls and bring the ball away from his line. Should play the full game in the halves on Fridday in attack and defence.'"

I think he was at FB when we were defending because whiting's defence is better. Doubt he'll change it for this week

I would happily bet a large wedge of money with you that it does change this week icon_wink.gif icon_wink.gif

Not sure the Tansey to SH change worked tbh. Either way he will be back at fullback now and Washy will play in the halves.
