| Feel a bit for Rich after the recent performances, but guess he's known ever since the Guardian/Wakefield news broke. looks like he kept stum till things fell into place. Interesting though that we've played really well in the games since then, not sure why ??
Bomber is a great appointment. just the bouncing board that Adam needs and will ensure the big rugby decisions Adam makes come after wise counsel. His knowledge of the game here and in Oz are second to none as are his contacts. And his position of director is a master stroke for me, to ensure he guides and directs all things rugby apart from the coaching of the first team, and what a great brain for the new coach to bounce things off. The future is bright, the future is black and white !!! Cant wait for the 2 big marquis signings now. Adam said he was going to put us back where we belong and we've set off on that road. Hold on tight.

Maybe the recent performances were more down to people knowing he was going and maybe a little bit of input from elsewhere?

I would hope he's put them troubles behind him now, and feels healthy enough to take on this new role.
Our new coach will hopefully have a free hand on the day to day playing side.'"
This is what McRae said about returning to coaching only last week:

Assuming he was telling the truth (and I have no reason to believe he wasn't) I cant see him doing any "hands on" coaching.

Think Mr Pearson wanted a rugby man on the board who will act as a link between the coach and Pearson, i don`t think Mr Mcrae will have any player related issues to deal with as this will fall under the remit of the coach.

| Can see McRae simply having a role like GM's do in US sports whereby he is based in a office and is in charge of player recruitment/retention of players highlighted by the head coach, the scouting structure of the club, putting clear pathways in place for younger players to transition to first grade level and the liaison between the coaching staff and owner.
Melbourne were the first side to have somebody fill this role in Frank Ponissi which has allowed Craig Bellamy to stick to coaching the side.

Exactly how I see it having read the club statement and seen Bombers comments about coaching just a few days ago.

| I'm trying not to get carried away.
it's another transformation process, things don't happen overnight, days, or weeks, it may even be what have to write off another season, while the team of players (including new ones) get bedded in to the team, and the new coach stamps his philosophies into the team.
Either way, things are looking up.
Just remember, this is not a quick fix. There's some members on here that I suspect will be calling for a head soon, infact a fair few on here you can never please, from a true til i die Hull F.C fan, I'm very happy with this news, and I look forward to being with all you fans next season in the east stand/kc stadium cheering our boys on!
COME ON U HULLLLLLLLLLLLLLL!

Same, I'm surprised anyone read it differently.

I don't think anyone has, I think people are just discussing their potential concerns.

Me too, whoever is to be the new Head Coach will tell McRae his wish list as to players/staff he wants then leave McRae to work with AP on the recruiting leaving the Head Coach to do the Coaching whilst working togther with the Head Coach on improving the structures within the club at all team levels.
