| I am no fan of Lane in a rugby sense only I don’t know the kid at all You’ve got to like a 4 year deal to aged 31 - fair play to his agent

| Depends on the salary, Myler isn't going to get everything right, but seems to get the majority of decisions correct, Chamberlain is here, it's done, you have to accept it, mentioning it every post, does what? It may be a mistake, but maybe he has learnt from it and doesn't want to repeat it. But you focus on the negative as always.

| Good move all round. Job security for him but he's average at best and we need more than that to lift us out of our slumber.

| I'm convinced a year ago we would have signed Knight on a 2 year plus deal and matched Cas deal for Lane.

| No complaints from me, we offered him what we believe he is worth and Cas have come in with an inflated and in my opinion a desperate deal. No brainer for him to accept. Agree that a couple years ago we would have got ourselves into a bidding war over a, lets face it, pretty average player.

| Good luck to him, if these reports are correct. A 'huge' offer at this stage in his career is too good to turn down (if indeed true). He's a trier, no doubt about that, gives his all, but if we are to make progress over the next couple of years there is no way we can afford to have the likes of Lane on four year deals on inflated wages. He should be a back-up squad player at best. If the 'huge' deal really is true, then not sure where Cas are going with signings of this nature, unless McGuire can see something hidden deeply that no one else has so far. Think it's a bit of a strange one in truth, at least from Castleford's perspective.

| I'm guessing Danny Wilson is the key driver behind this one. Half decent squad player but not worth a bumper 4 year contract. Hopefully fash next

| Cas fans on their forum seem delighted! not! would have been a decent squad player if stayed, but can't blame him for accepting a bigger offer, young family to support in a short career.

| The forum now suggesting we are bitter and every player who leaves we say are rubbish, saying he was player of the year in 2024 (which was bonkers). They clearly haven't read this forum or social media over the last three years or so. Think they ate trying to convince themselves it's a good signing.

I noticed that last night, like you say they've obviously not read the forum for a while or they'd know that the general consensus amongst FC fans is that he's a decent squad player but not a player that would be a starting 2nd row in a team that wants to be challenging at the top. He's another that showed great potential but for whatever reasons never fulfilled it. As said best of luck to him but the deal offered by Hull probably reflected that so if Cas see him as a good option and want to splash the cash and give him a 4 year deal then so be it, I'm just glad to see that we no longer seem to retain players simply because of sentimentality or they were part of 'Club Hull'.
