I think it's clear to see that the quality of SL overall has dropped. The fact that all the best players it once had are either not in it or looking to leave is a big sign/reason why. Answer honestly, how do you think the current top 4 would measure up against Saints of 6-7 years ago, or Maguire's Wigan?

I actually don't know. I can surmise which is all anyone can do. The fact that the NRL wants our best players and are still hunting them might suggest the opposite. It might not of course.

We have more teams and no more players, plus the top overseas stars aren't coming here any more. The quality is spread thinner. A few years ago you had 2 or 3 sides who were streets above the rest. I'd say that the number of quality players in SL isn't that much different now to then, with the exception of a few top-notch antipodeans.

Thoroughly enjoyed it. Especially as I won a few quid with a result that the rest of the SL anticipated but on the same note still made your lot look daft for the second time in a week.

Having those socks lined up and then not having a reason to use them seems to have left him frustrated.
