| It says alot about how far we've come that we have just beaten a team that every man and his dog are tipping for the GF and people are talking about how poor we were.
With regards to our defense. Most teams send much of their traffic down their left side because that the way most players pass the ball the best. Right centre is the hardest position on the field to defend. I wonder if theres some merit to swapping Fonua and Yeaman around. Fonua should have less defending to do and has a big guy outside to help him. Or maybe put Fonua right wing with Yeaman inside him, and have Talanoa left centre with Naughton.

| Ellis to centre?
Keep Ellis where he is, our back row four are formidable as a quartet and best in the league. Don't change that if we dont have to.

| It was a really good win in the end but we were dumb for much of the 2nd half. At 12 points up with less than 20 to play all we had to do was work out our sets, kick well and not give away penalties. No way were they going to score from their own half but we kept piggy backing them down into our half and almost paid the price. Yet we start trying to throw the ball around as if we needed to score every time we got the ball until the last 7 or 8 minutes.
Sneyd had his least effective game for weeks and took the wrong option too many times. pryce just wasn't at the races and fonua is not very mobile causing us defensive issues on that side.
Luckily sneyd had his kicking boots on as we were outscored 5 tries to 4.
We did really well to hold them out in that last 5 minutes though.
A couple of worrying looking injuries too

Playing Yeaman as a right centre i dont think so. He always plays on the left because he cant pass to the right.
I think we are seeing what a good job Michaels actually did in defence.
Its difficult but Michaels needs to come back in at centre and move Fonua onto the wing.I did think Fonua would be an answer at centre but dont think he will be.

It was the amount of them (for both teams) which was the concern. Once Thaler let Richards tackle on Naughton go in the 3rd minute, he'd lost the game IMO.

| Getting a win when you play below par is a result and 2 more points. Despite them missing Carney (which could well have being the diff) that was still a bloody good side we beat.
Learning to win (a la Wigan this season) whichever way you can is usually a mark of a very good team.
Learn from the mistakes, start again next week (and sounds like we need the 8.5 days) and ensure we keep winning.

| Dumb tonight
They've scored every single 1 of their tries right off the back of our pens conceded.
10 mins whilst man in the bin we played like fools and used the period as un effectively as you could ever try too
Should of won by 20 tonight.
Defence on the right isn't quite right.
All teams best attack is their left our right so always expect more tries that way. But I think our probs are the whole side as a unit. Michaels at 1 times this year got stick. Logan had tough times. Now Fonua. That's not coincidence.
Just seen tries back n Fonua who's being picked out isn't at fault for any imo.
Pryce is ball watching 1st try by time Fonua realises pryce hasn't done his job it's too late. Actually noticed at the game Fonua telling him off for it
Naughton should of held his wing for 1 and the other the whole right doesn't slide and they go down the outside
Hulls pack is the best in league. Cats are a lot of neutrals picks for best pack. We've took care of them all night easy when not giving pens to get them up field
Taylor watts were tremendous.
Bowden quiet 1st spell mega 2nd
Thompson was a menace to them
Frank made a nuisance for them and nice hand in noggers try
Houghton is well...Houghton
Manu though for me was MOM
Also away from the pack Fonuas n Talanoas carries in that 2nd half were tremendous. Talanoa is a freak at beating the 1st man. I keep watching to see how he does it but cant suss it. It's not lightening speed. It's not particularly intricate footwork. Yet he gets past even good defenders like Stewart when there looks no room
We're still to see an 80 min performance. And I still think this team has a lot more improving in it. Yet we're 3rd..good times

Annoyed me when we went for 2. When 6 ahead. Had 2 pens before and were on their line. Know it seems the thing to do. But it forced them to go for a regather off the restart and given the aggro it had caused us all night. Should of tapped pen and if needed drop a goal.
Kicked 2. Conceded 6

| Well I really enjoyed it. They were the best team we have played thus far and yet we somehow got the points by electing to take the two at a critical point in the game as Leeds did two weeks ago against us! The drama and jepody in that last twenty minutes was great entertainment and had everyone on the edge of their seats. Surely that's what sports about?
For me at this time of the season its just about getting the points. We can look to the fancy stuff once we get into the 8's but we are now really handily placed and our destiny is in our own hands! We might have been a bit naff at times but we never gave up and never gave in!
At the start of the season 18 points from 13 games would certainly have done for me! lets try to enjoy it eh?

He couldn't pass at all, but this has really improved this year, the ball for the first try was great, wouldn't have done that in previous years.
I think Fonua will be lucky to keep his place, I'd have Naughton over him at the moment.
