| Problem with being a successful team in a salary capped sport is that your players can command higher salaries and you do have to make tough decisions on who to retain/release, so maybe there is a chance we could get Eseh next season

I'd love us to tie eseh up on a 4 or 5 year deal but can see why he would want a crack at breaking into the wigan team
Wigan would be crazy to let him go at this point. He had a few loan spells last year without really impressing, now it looks like he's really building something. Byrne and Hill are both gone with not a lot of cap space left. Eseh and an academy front rower will likely replace them in the squad and Id hope that we're able to bring in a high quality second rower to replace Farrell. it's not really a case of wigan letting him go though. If he feels he has a future at wigan he can go there and play when a couple of others are injured and see what happens or could opt to sign for us from 2027 on and see if that forces the issue with wigan. He'd likely be in the 17 most weeks here and either playing reserves or shipped out on dual reg at wigan

we need to find a quality hooker to progress to the next level
I think Borough has been very good but is suffering from too many minutes which is affecting his running game. I'd like to see him and Cust playing in 20 minute spells. Has he? Which games has he stood out in? Defensively sound but I've seen next to nothing from him attack wise. His ball out of dummy half is slow and often inaccurate slowing down our attack. Just my opinion and others will differ but he looks a bit like Danny Houghton Mk2 to me Don't think there's anything wrong with a Danny Houghton MK2 as long as we have a second hooker to come off the bench and provide a spark with a quick running game.Would love for Balmforth to be that player and hope he can get back to last year's form. Balmforth just not getting enough minutes on the field.I would be very disappointed if i was him particularly when Borough is hitting an average spell in his form. Dont see why given our curent problem at 13 why they dont give Balmforth a run there. He is a decent size, good pace and hands but maybe his suspect defence is what the coach sees rather than attacking qualities

Rapana definitely mixed bag .Thought Aydin had a really good first spell but definitely not a 13..... If Eseh is happy here can't we sign him up December if he doesn't extend his contract at Wigan ?......All in all 2 points no injuries back in the top 6..... Would we have taken this at season start ... Dam right we would
He is under contract at Wigan and i think the club are just being respectful to Wigan not pushing the situation at the moment. That said it wouldnt surprise me to see him here next season

| We seem to have a good relationship with Wigan, if there’s a deal to be done I’m sure we’ll get it done, if not we move on.
I can’t help thinking our fans at the moment either go massively over the top with expectations and criticism with players like Rapana and then hugely over the top the opposite with the likes of Knight and Eseh, I’m sure the social media activity around Eseh now is making Wigan sit up and take notice of him even more.
Wigan have nothing to lose in exercising the one year in their favour. If they do, with the new rules Hull (or anyone) could offer him a deal for 2027 before a ball is kicked in 2026. If Wigan have a cap squeeze and Eseh could get a better deal elsewhere they might just feel it’s better for him to move on and go with something more long term, maybe taking a fee from Hull. All ifs and buts, the ball is in Wigan and the players court, great if it happens but I don’t think it’s a deal breaker for the club to progress, there’s a much bigger picture.

| There seems to be a lot of social media content with Sam Eseh which makes me think that he could be here next year

| We did well against Salford we didn't panic and took control second half, Zak outstanding again along with Cust, Litten's best game in a long time too, love to sign Eseh more than any other potential signing.

Most people wanted Knight to stay. Then they wanted him gone straight away after his red card against Huddersfield. Now they want him to stay long term again.
