Sorry - I missed the mention of Rovers in that quote. Unless you're suggesting that Rovers did, in fact, assist Cooke in breaching his contract?
Rule hasn't lost his bottle. Cooke's lost his career and his cash. What redress would we be able to get from the Fat One now? A pile of old Stella tins? |

Completely different situation. Drugs involved and loss of player transfer due to the sacking of Mutu meant that we (Chelsea) went to the board of arbitration. We received the lost transfer fee back from Mutu personally! |

But they might not - and that would have been, in legal parlance, proper bo. As well, there is the in between prospect of a victory won at too great a cost. All the effort, legal fees and potential embarrasment, for a possibly token award.
Hull FC want to move on, I reckon. Their fans'd be wise to let them - 3 and a half years ago now. I shall now anticipate the invitation to f-off back to the Rovers board. |
