I agree. He has been impressive in what he has said since taking the England job but he never produced in the Autumn. he clearly understands and thinks about the game a lot but it has not yet shown in his coaching.

Most fans probably agree with your sentiment Carl but maybe we over achieved in 05/06? That said we need to do better and this will be a do or die season for Agar, I would just like to judge him after 8 matches rather than after today.

Are we not judging him on the last 2/3 years though?. How much more do we need to see?.
I've wanted him to succeed, bit it just isn't going to happen.

It's a new season so we should give him a fair shot, in fairness we looked much better attacking the line today than we did last season, we just let ourselves down in defence.

We did on occasion but at other times we were just as clueless and static as last season, our guy in possession jinking around but going nowhere and the rest of the line with their hands in their pockets. The peaks were a bit higher than usual but the troughs were just as low.

Paul hand on heart though can you see it I can't and never will. I was dissapointed when he was given the job but gave him a chance,also another chance when he had the clearout,and now he has his team and its just not good enough imo. Poor signings,no balance,no gameplan never mind a plan b,boring rugby,fails to motivate the team or improve players. Im not saying all his fault bod and players have to take a look at themselves but ateotd he is head coach and the buck stops with him

It was a tongue in cheek comment, btw. But I honestly think if we sort our our discipline next week we will show to be a different side. We had all the momentum until we started to give it away.

I don't buy that we lost because of poor discipline today. Yes most of their tries were off the backs of penalties but the first three times our defence was tested it buckled each time. If they had been getting repeat set after repeat set on our line then I could accept the discipline argument but they generally only needed one set in our 20 to get over the line.

Was a combination of poor discipline and poor defence, but the penalties turned the game around into their hands.
Once they had the momentum we persisted in giving the ball away and got punished.

We'll probably go and tonk Leeds now, and make my spleen venting irrelevant!.

Poor recruitment by Agar is the off season.

Should have signed another prop to replace Dowes, Hargreaves or Emmitt.

Am happy with the Westerman signing despite his poor game yesterday, but play the kid in his correct position FFS and not off the bench.

Rest players when they are tired, thought Fitz has a good game, but he got tired and gave away a couple of penalties that led (plus poor defence) to a try.

I still can't believe that they gave Agar a 2 year deal, one I could have handled.

Apart from expro and a couple of others i think we are awake to the situation at the club, we need to board to wake up and make a brave move that will take the club up to the next level.

With Agar in charge we are always going to be a nearly team around 6th-8th place, maybe making it to the semi's of the cup, but not really challenging for trophies, a bit like Warrington under Cullan.

Something needs to change, if the club did get rid I would put a lot of money of James Webster beng moved up.
