Outstanding second half, and fantastically controlled once we got in front.

To provide balance to all the complaints about poor decisions/offences ignored for which we were on the receiving end, I would just say that I would be going ape if Monaghan had got away with what Briscoe did with about 4 minutes left with roles reversed.

Having said that, I think it's hard to say we didn't thoroughly deserve the win.

Indeed, I thought we were very lucky there.
All in all though I think the decisions just about balanced themselves out.

It was a great game of RL played at a good speed and intensity.

Hopefully we can really kick on from here, Rovers and Leeds are both looking very winnable at present.

Wouldn't go that far, still think they got far more leniency/wilful ignorance for messing about at the ptb and forward passes, as well as us having a perfectly good try disallowed.

Personally, thought we played better for longer periods in the Wigan game. Thought we failed to build up pressure in the first half tonight, when we had opportunities.

But once we got in front, it was so pleasing to see how we managed to control the game and not really give them a sniff of winning.

Defence throughout was awesome again, against a very dangerous attacking side, who had hammered Salford last week and comfortably beaten a very good Hudds team a week earlier.

Things are looking a lot brighter now.



And oh yes, I was screaming at Briscoe to get of Monaghan at the end, as it was a stone wall penalty.

Well played hull thought we were great from 1-17 defence was like a wall nothing was getting through. Was really impressed with the way holdsworth and especially Houghton controlled the game I'm the last 10 mins.

Oh and nice to see the lads wipe that arrogant smirk off Tony smiths face.

Just finished watching the game due to work ,Cracking game and the defence was superb yet again and totally snuffed wire out, Kicking game by Holdsworth & Houghton, constantly turning wire around was top draw . Shame Crooks couldn't find the player inside just before H/T in what would have been a great try . I feel we still haven't seen the best of this team yet but when we do , someone's going to cop a big one.

In previous years, heads would have dropped at 16-6 and we'd have lost 34-6 or similar. Credit to Gentle and the players for getting rid if that mentality. If anything our approach is now "so what?" as they appear to have the belief that they can come back.
