| I think our mods are top notch. 
I think the Rovers board once had a poll for a new mod and voted for either cab man or Wild Child Luke Sykes, and neither were appointed. Best keep to the "wait to be asked" principle. In my case, I think I'll be waiting a while.  |

I just about remember the Mod selection process.
The current mods identify a long time frequent poster who hasn't given any reason in that time for anyone to suspect they're an idiot. There's some discussion amongst the mods and, assuming there's agreement, the poster will then be approached and invited to join the team.
Most boards use the same process.
