No mate I am not stupid...The only stupid people here are the one's who signed a has been h/back for 2 years!!
Of course he does not plan the injuries, however any-one who is not STUPID understands old has been's are very prone to injuries!

You have to ask yourself why did Saints not want to keep him, they knew deep down his body couldn't hack it anymore. He should have being given a one year deal. |

Mmm...think this should be the end for Long as an FC player. Problem is who is available as a first choice SH at this level in the transfer market?

They had the luxury of 2 or 3 decent youngsters coming through which we hadn't. That's the real area where we should be criticised IMO - not the fact we signed Long (when just about every fan was rightly crying out for a scrum half and there wasn't really anyone else available) but the fact that we cant supply an Eastmond/Lomax/Gaskell from within our own systems. |

I'd buy Ellis out of his contract get him here early, what bad can it do just to let him play the season out. Will probably help us better in the long run then getting in another stop gap. |

Steve Menzes is the oldest player in SL, should he never have been signed by Bradford and Les Cats?
If you think dislocated elbows and broken thumbs are a sign of being injury prone then your comprehension of the term is fundamentally impaired.
That's the problem with some on this forum, never really think through their comments before hitting enter.

Long was a legend at Saints and if they felt he was up for it they would have kept him I am sure of it. |

Spot on. Long was just about our only option at the time. It was a gamble that hasn't worked out but one that we had little choice but to make.
You have to ask what Saints are doing with their youth setup that we aren't. |

They offered him 1 year so he wouldn't get in the way of their younger players coming through. We offered 2 because he was our only option and he took it - who wouldn't ? It hasn't worked out for us. |
