Agree, certainly out of form, has proved he can kick goals at Cas last season, I'm sure it his form will come back.

Dave ive actually seen Johnston play a couple of times.he is only young but in a couple of years will be the real deal of a winger with real pace to go with it.
Would love Brian Smith back here.it just shows what a real coach can do in a short period.Powell is the same.
Regretfully our coach is so limited in ability, very lucky to be in a job and would have been sacked weeks ago by any other club chairman

Pryce is struggling physically there's no doubt about that.

There's a better one then Sneyd in our squad never mind SL, he's called Rankin.

We tried our best to give Wakefield a chance with early individual errors giving them a foothold in the game. We scored some outstanding tries with some superb rugby league that if it was other teams playing it would be lauded. Nice to see Jack Logan playing confidently and taking his tries well. His break for when Ellis was held up was outstanding as well. Should have won by more but never do - credit to Wakey their two second half tries were very good.

Thought we were pretty average overall. ellis was immense and logan had a good game with sneyd showing some good touches. If we ever found an attacking threat we'd be great but as it is we spend plenty of time in good attacking positions but still struggle to score. We looked worryingly easy to score against today too.

Loads of effort and commitment today, team spirit seemed fine, no negative body language but still far too many basic handling errors. Our defence was also disappointing as I thought we would have been able to handle their attacking threat much better than we did. Still I'll take the two points.

We always looked the most likely to win the game.
A wins a win, but it's pretty depressing that our season partly hinged on beating a pretty poor Wakefield team.

Ellis was a monster today. If we'd had Sneyd on Wednesday, we'd have won, without a doubt.

Wakefield played on a piffpoor referee who let them lie on every single tackle, time-waste all game and niggle.

Really pleased for Logan who now should keep that spot. If he can forge a partnership with Michaels, that will do me.

What is worrying is that we needed a drop goal against a terrible bottom table club. Our defence has fallen to pieces. If we didn't have an outstanding pack, we'd be looking towards bottom 2.

It was disappointing that we didn't defend the first error that led to the try particularly as we would have been pretty fresh then. The second try obviously wasn't a defensive error but an attacking one. The 2 they scored in the second half were good tries. We could have done better but our defence wasn't catastrophic IMO. Helps if you kick the goals.

Pleased we've won but hardly buoyed by the fact that yet again we are having a poor season, only just beaten the bottom side and are still playing so inconsistently poor.

What I find puzzling is that we were like this earlier in the season then transformed completely but we've now reverted to type. Some of our attempts at attack are worse than watching U11's

Don't think it was that bad overall. 6 tries and 2 held ups is a lot better than we managed earlier in the season.

We were playing the bottom side with the worst defensive record in SL though.

Always tough after 3 games in 9 days and low on confidence against a team that are much improved and high on confidence, hopefully we can kick on from here,

I said the same. He's not great at FB. I think shaul would have covered that and wouldn't have conceded the 1st try against leeds in the cup

You're right about the third try thought Rankin wasn't deep enough then turned and ran in treacle.

Anyone who thought we just turned up and played hard fast clean rugby and blow them away whilst understandably low on confidence and basically revisiting easter with 3 games in not much more than a week was being very nieve. I got what I expected. Scrappy rubbish with some low intensity. Got some great tries to be fair. Logan was another hi point. (11 in 5 games across all levels)A week prep on back of a win could do wonders for confidence. 2 more gears to find at least to beat cas but today was a good point to try rekick our season

Definite mistake by Rankin for their third but don't forget the try saving tackle he made and the really good finish for his try.
