| A great win and one that I admit I didn’t see us getting. Thought Westy was outstanding and made Wigan second guess in defence which is something we rarely make the opposition do.
Think Ellis made a huge difference just by his leadership on & off the pitch. He is a true leader and seriously lack that in the team.
So many performances all round as they stuck together and dug in. Still some daft stuff and Jake needs to curb his mouth but still a massive boost to get 2pts.
Now the work continues as failing to capitalise on today’s performance and result but slipping up against Huddersfield will put us back to square one.
We always seem to the team that teams get their first win against when they are in winless runs.
Hats off to all concerned for getting a result today.
Still think we are a long way off where we should be but as long as we build and move forward from this point then that’s all we can ask for.

| Much, much improved team performance. Plenty to work on but still, getting a win on the board is massive.
Have to back up next week, I’ll worry we’ll throw it because of how hopeless Hudds have looked so far, they’re bound to turn it round and spank us

Its a major concern the number of tries we let in just before half time and full time.
It has to be a lack of concentration.
Its the same when we score and the opposition use a short kick off.We seem to switch off and they regain possession.
We make it so difficult for ourselves. We pin Wigan down in their 20 then give away a penalty on the second or third tackle and as a result of the leg up field they score.
Connor mouths off to the referee.Free kick leg up field and they score.
last 2 minutes scrum on their 10 and they go 90 meters and score.
Massive effort from the team, you cant fault that but we have to learn because it happens too often to be a one off.

| Monday morning early commute for me after some cold beers in the heat last night
GREAT to see the win !
Thank goodness for Hardaker missing and the boys seeing it through
Hopefully that’s a catalyst
I feared the worst and Ellis made such a difference both on and off the pitch
This group of players are Top 4

| This hard time we've been through was almost worth it, for days like today.
Great effort by the lads, and the joyous celebrations of the fans when Sneyd kicked that was fantastic. So we'll done to us, enjoy!

| Massive relief to get that 13 game monkey off our back, and we deserved a win for the effort we have put in across the 3 games. I didn't think we could win the forward battle without Taylor, but it sounds like a few guys really upped their game today. It should be a great confidence boost, and there are good signs. Our attack seems a lot more varied and expansive this year. With Taylor back in there and Green/Bowden back to fitness we can really ask a lot of questions of teams, not to mention what Kelly can do.
We need to make sure that this is merely a stepping stone to better things though. A win today doesn't right all the wrongs of the last 9 months, but it's progress. Let's back it up next week now and start to get a bit of momentum going.

I didn't have much luck with the 79th minute equaliser costing me four hundred quid.

The boys finally caught a break and that's all that matters.
Think it could have finally broke us if Hardaker had converted but instead we went on to create Golden Point history.
Fine lines, innit?

I did wonder if you got paid out on a golden point win or not! Gutted , exactly why I like the golden point though, would of felt like a defeat drawing that game, sounded a great game, gutted I didn't go, Radfords fault awesome display by the boys, hopefully a turning point

| The stats make better reading for the forwards this week. Still struggling to make significant inroads, the metres per carry were not impressive, but pretty much all of them put their hand up and did plenty of work.
Paea, 12 carries for 64 metres.
Masi, 10 for 51
Thompson, 14 for 65
Ellis, 9 for 55
Mini, 21 for 116
Manu, 19 for 101
Lane, 7 for 46
Westerman, 17 for 70
Also not one of them made a handling error and they conceded only 4 penalties between them.
Nothing there is headline grabbing, none of them managed much more than 6 metres per carry, but it just proves that if they can just hold their own, we have enough quality elsewhere to get the job done.

I was surprised when I looked at the table that the team losing to the golden point doesn't get anything, Wigan are still on 0. In a lot of other sports, like Ice Hockey, the team losing in overtime gets a point for the draw after full time.

Nah, I am ok with that. I think we need to accept that he is never going to be a one man wrecking crew, but he is a very solid tackler, he makes minimal errors and has a presence which attracts defenders. If he can up his work rate (10 carries is fine) and work on his offload game (really good one led to Tuimavave scoring yesterday) then he can be a useful player.
I still think he runs too upright into contact though. He is a tall guy anyway, so the way he runs makes him too easy to stand up and drive back. Needs to lower his shoulders into the collision and then you might find that his leg drive will get him a lot more metres after contact.

this is much more consistent. i don't think it is the metres per carry thats the issue, it is the errors and penalties conceded giving the opposition easy metres. Also looks like everyone shared the work this time rather than a couple of them only doing 3 or 4 carries as in the last game. Knock similar stats out to those every week and put bowden and taylor in there and we will be fine
