Agreed. When you think that according to the club websites he's only 1cm shorter than Crabtree, conceding 12kg is then a sizable difference. Even if he only halved that difference it could make him much more of a handful for defences to handle. |

Green for me has all the attributes to be a very good prop, he does seem to have lost some weight/bulk during the season compared to the start when he was much more effective too. |

Would make absolutely utterly completely 0 sense to me!!!
During a game he'll run dozens of dummy runs, never half hearted. If we could actually create some illusion n with some fluidity this would be effective.
When he carries the ball has tremendous leg drive n has the odd offload in him. This would be lost through the middle barreling into men 1/2st heavier. Would be better out wide as the starting point of an attack. Given decent fluent ball Ellis has always been able to get his outside backs away as well.
And the biggest point of all is defence. His ability to close off a play. Dozens of times he's shot up n in to close an attack. But as a defensive body guard for his centre n half back is where he is invaluable.
The semi v wire-within 1st mins you could see they were trying to create a one on one with westwood n miller. Made an immediate break. Rest of the game Ellis looked out for it n westwood n think during the game forced westwood into about 3 errors.
All about hulls abilities to create space n attacking threat to make Ellis a threat. Manu would of been noa better stuck on that left edge this yr.
But to complain about a small pack n lack of props then suggest our highest paid player go as a battering ram makes no sense to me. May as well try offload him n use Johnston on a quarter of the salary.
I honestly believe Radford will give us a tough competitive pack n create the platform to get the best from the likes of Ellis, westy, watts etc. Get our offloading game going again fast play of the balls etc. Pretty much at the core of why we struggled this yr was the pack in my opinion'"
rotation is the key for older forwards so playing ellis for the first and last 30 mins of matches with middle 30 rested might prolong his career so we then get the full 3 years out of him. |
