If phelps had been FB against saints instead of whiting I reckon we'd have won.

Thought phelps had a good game in the derby and has improved week on week. Just hope he can stay fit

We only saw him do that once (and on the second tackle!), though. His only mistake in an excellent performance from him. Very encouraged by Phelps last night.

If everyone maintains their improvement and the team continue to gel we could be on the cusp of something good.

Our weak areas look weak no longer and I'm starting to feel a bit excited.

Another good effort this afternoon. Wind was blustery and swirling and he had a lot of high bombs to defuse which he did well.

Has Phelps dropped a high ball since he came? So solid under the bombs and his kick returns are good. Good support play from him too, if he had a touch more pace I think he could be one of the best in the league.

Wigan? I wasn't there so won't have seen it. Anyway, the point is that I've never felt confident with high kicks watching FC for years, with Phelps that's one worry I no longer have.

Now if he can teach some of that to Sharp then we'll be laughing!

he had a good game, took some difficult high balls, if anyone needs to look at their defensive performance today it's turnstile Westerman.
