He's had a bad run of luck with injuries hasn't he. I quite agree, poor kid.

| Long has been injury prone throughout his entire career, he's just unlucky in that respect.

I'm not trying to argue the point, I think we've agreed it happens. Be it by a few or a few thousand.

I see you are still spouting your usual drivel.
If Long had turned up, put his feet up and basically said, right I am here for a holiday, then yes, he would have been a waste of money. I can't remember there being much opposition to the signing of Long when it was announced, hence indicating that no one thought it was going to be a waste of money then.
Chris Thorman was a waste of money as he was not fit for purpose.
Sean Long hasn't let the side down, he has copped a few bad injuries.
But hey, you keep beleiving that your think you know more than you actually do, that your personal crusade actually means something and that you being "up for a protest" will actually change anything.

| Quote: berrigans bitch "The problem with your example is that both Fitz & Menzes did not have the same injury record as Longy...You do know that Longy played less than half a season for Saints in his final season there don't you
Bounding out comments like you did on the originating post of this thread is the classic faceless keyboard warrior.
St's had Kyle Eastmond waiting in the wings. When Long was injured they had no need to rush him back as there was a more than adequate replacement for him. St's also knew he was leaving and will have wanted to give Eastmond plenty of game time but still in the knowledge that Long was there should Eastmond not be as they had hoped. Had Eastmond not had the talent or been there at all, Long would have had far more game time in 2009.
Longs injury record has not been excessive until his time at Hull. If it had been pulled muscles or strains, then the injury prone tag would probably have been justified. But a dislocated elbow, broken thumb and todays as yet unconfirmed (but likely dislocation) injury are hardly run of the mill ageing injuries.
What bores me, is fans who prefer to scapegoat players when things are completely beyond that players control.

Tell you what bores me those who band around the word "scapegoat" as soon as anyone dares to criticise a Hull player.

and if it was cockayne, you would all stand up and clap him off!!!!
most of you were wishing he was in jail for most of the match, leaving a wife and child to fend for themselves (i am only joking)
as churchill says it happens at most matches, no one knows how badly someone is injured when they cheer, if after o'meeley's hit on netherton had left him injured, then would we be saying the same thing about the hull fans who were cheering!!!
i wish shaun long a speedy recovery, a lot of FC fans calling him, yet if he'd of stayed on the pitch you would have probably won

Our problem being that both things don't happen that often this season.

| I think most fans would cheer the hit that leaves an opposition player groggy, but the protocol is to stand and applaud the player being helped from the field. What happened in this instance?

| I hope and wish Longy a speedy recovery. Top bloke and a great servant to rugby. Maybe Longy will realise that his body can't take the knocks anymore and retire. If he does I hope we get him signed onto the coaching staff, if he stays as a player then I hope he can develop our up and coming 7's into something only half as good as he's been.

| Why the clamour to get Long on the coaching staff? IMO he doesn't appear to have the right sort of personality for it.

Nobody cheered the incident as it wasn't clear what had happened. The East stand started cheering as Long was rolling around in agony, which rose to a crescendo as he was led from the field.
