I want the bloke to be a success but imo these are the signings sl shouldn't be making. Theres a few splattered around sl that are equally as poor and it just blocks the path of up and coming players.

I pretty much guarantee that if we signed Aiton, people on this forum would be calling him and he club saying "you wouldn't see top clubs signing players like Aiton". Except he's signed for Leeds.

I don't think anyone could argue against that point, there are far too many.

It's almost a habit we have in SL, we must be seen to be acquiring at least some overseas talent. There are undoubtedly similarities between this situation and the Shaul/McDonnell debate, just that, in this instance the player isn't blocking anybody at the club directly, just the possibility of finding an unpolished English diamond. Strange how people's views are polar opposite about the two scenarios though.

Leeds will release McShane to fit Aiton in, it's a disgrace, and completely unlike Leeds.

I like him already. Who was our last star bin man, was it Dannatt or Russ Walker?

I wouldn't be surprised to see him on the left wing, at least till Biggs arrives, he hasn't played much centre at all and he was never one of those players who put his winger away.

Russ Walker was certainly a bin man Mrs B, not sure about Andy Dannatt.
If our new signing puts as much into his game as Russ Walker did, we'll have a good 'un.

I do know that at some point Andy Dannatt worked at Reckitts "blue" down Morley St and Russ Walker worked at British Aerospace Brough.

Dannatt was the "big I am" in Hawk in Brough, until he got put on his backside a number of times, he wasn't tough, he was a bully, they are very different things.

Think Walker worked at Barrow BAE before he came to hull. Dannatt was our labourer whilst he was doing his plumbing & gas apprenticeship after he chucked the pub game. was a bit funny telling him what to do when he had been an idol of mine.

McShane asked for a release last week mate, it isn't like Leeds at all.

Leeds signing Aiton, Wigan signing Clubb, yet it's the Hull fans signing an 25yr old ex-NRL player who scored every other game who are moaning.

Was there the night 5 blokes pasted him in the Hawk (Xmas Eve IIRC). Was a mugging if nothing else. When a Dannett was laid on the ground unconscious, it takes a big man to continue kicking him in the face!

Hope he does well , With Biggs coming in also , Looks like it's bye bye Crookes .

Crookes still has 2 years on his deal to run and if Biggs isn't here till May I can't see us releasing him till the end of the year.

I think he'll still go , Biggs has been in & out of the Bath side so I think he'll be here before May .

The problem is if Crookes plays 1 game his salary and pay off (from a 2 year deal) will count on the cap. It would be pointless releasing him as it wouldn't free up cap space.

Yet another poor signing to add to the very long list.

As has been said, Wigan have raided player from the worst team in SL. You've got to sign these players from somewhere but as long as they have the desire they can be anything.. Sam Moa for example!!

I'd rather have 3 players on £60k (Feka, Talanoa and Rankin), with a bit of mystery around their ability but the effort and desire to win.. Than 1 on £180k (Holdsworth), coming as a superstar and saviour but just taking the money and not putting in the hard work or not actually having the ability to go with it..

There is not really anyone better, or bigger named, than Holdsworth available so I'd rather go with nobodies and give them a shot!!
