I'm not sure that criticism elsewhere - especially on the madhouse that is Twitter - is relevant to the discussion on this thread. Or if it is, then it would be helpful to be clear when referring to it. I naturally assumed that you were talking about the thread we were discussing.
Quote ="PAUL M"Again....I have not said he should not be criticised, where did I say it was taboo?'"
I didn't say that you specifically had. But have a read of the thread and see the response of some other posters.
Quote ="PAUL M"He has been quiet in attack this season but our left hand side as a whole has been not just him. He has also missed games though injury and it can take time to get form back. He had a good game against Leeds and made a big error, luckily it didn't cost us.'"
Our left hand side [ihas[/i been quiet generally. And I agree it's not all down to Yeamo. He is [ipart[/i of the problem though. The injury thing is true enough but supposes there was some form before injury to get back to. In attack Yeamo has been pretty ordinary all season.
Quote ="PAUL M"Give me a choice right now between Arundel and Yeaman, it would be Yeaman everytime. His defence is far superior and their attacks are similar.'"
I'm happy to leave that decision to Gentle. But I don't think there's quite as much between Arundel's form before his injury and Yeaman's form now as you do. Hence why I said it would be interesting to see what happens once Arundel is fit.
Of course he might come back with the kind of form he showed early season, in which case I wouldn't pick him for a Championship side let alone us. It's perfectly possible that Yeaman will still be our best option at left centre despite his faults.

| A quick question for those who watched it on Sky as my view of the incident on the big screen wasn't brilliant.
When Yeaman blindly lobbed the pass in Pitts' direction did Pitts actually knock it on while trying to gather the ball?
It looked like it came off his knees/ankles to me but as I saw I didn't have the best view.

Of course its relevant it's discussion about FC and players. As a mod on here I find it odd you refer to twitter as a madhouse.
Anyway Arundel was like a turnstile earlier in the season. I like him but he has it all to prove. Yeamans place to lose and if he keeps playing like he did on Friday PG will have an easy decision.

| Deary me,Yeaman had another good game, since he came back from his injury he's been playing really well,(if you've got hull fc live watch them),he made a very bad decision and the coaching staff need to have a word, how this warrants a 12 page thread when everyone agrees he made a mistake,(even his supporter's),makes me wonder if his detractor's just don't want him in the team,if so,tell me who they want in his place

It is indeed up to me who I follow (or don't follow) but Twitter isn't policed in the way RLFans is, and some of the people posting on there should be ashamed of thoughts and opinions they have posted in the past, and not just ex Hull players.

Indeed, but it's a shock when you read what some people write who you think would be a little better educated.
Anyway... Pearson said in his interview that we were heading to France early, any ideas when the squad is due to leave for Perpignan, I'd hope Wednesday at the latest.

Knocked it on more than once. No surprising given the pass.
Terrible decision by Yeaman, needs a kick up the backside for it from both Gentle and his team mates. It's always been a problem with this game, greedy play, maybe this will be the wake up call.
Still a excellent committed attacking player though, fully deserves his place in the team.

Well, yes he did. (potentially). At 29mins he kicked on the third tackle. A poor kick which gave possession back to Leeds, when there was a 3 on 1 overlap on the left. We may, or may not, not have scored, but then, if Yeamen had passed it to DJ, he may, or may not, have dropped it again. ![Smile icon_smile.gif](//www.rlfans.com/images/smilies//icon_smile.gif) Nothing is certain.

| Considering the pass that Westerman took for his try, is it not fair to criticise Pitts for not taking the pass, rather than Yeamo?
You see, the thread is called 'Yeaman no pass' but of course, he did. He backed himself and when he realised he wasn't going to make it he threw it inside. Now, when you see the drills the players do before a game in the warm up and how Westerman took his pass from Crooks, I'd say Pitts is equally to blame.

Ridiculous thing to say, do you not see the drills they do pre-match? The ones were they practise taking a ball around their ankles and on the bounce.

what do you mean "if you went", you expecting fans to go to training now, that is ludicrous.
you may have the luxury of a job that allows you to do so, the majority of us work during the week and a significant number, as much as you dislike us, don't live in Hull.
as it is, you may even be not working and at college or something, I don't know.
Yeaman shouuld have made a better pass much earlier in the play, and this isn't the first time we've been saying that about him, it's why he isn't an international player, he can't put his winger away.

Ah right, I've never seen the "run away from the support and throw a pass over your head in panic when you realise you're not going to make it" drill.
and I don't think I would if I went to every home game for 100 years.
anyway, Catalans next week, I hope Yeaman proves me to be wrong and has the game of the season.

No matter how much you practise in warm up there is a big difference when in a match pressure situation.
Shouldn't have come to having to take a pass around his ankles.

| The percentage play is to draw the fullback and pass the ball inside to the supporting player. On this occasion Yeaman decided to go for glory and then just dump the ball when he got tackled. Whether Pitts could have done better or not is immaterial as it should never have been that difficult in the first place and its a perfectly valid criticism of Yeaman.

OK, drama queen, its called having an opinion.
The fact is Yeaman should have passed it earlier in the run. Far earlier. He got it wrong, he would I'm sure say he did as well to be fair.
Yeaman ended up lobbing the ball back in field, with no idea were his players were (at that point). The fact that Pitts was even in the same vicinity of were it landed was about the only surprising bit. There was little chance of him picking it up cleanly.
Yeaman's error, plain and simple. Time to move on though... we won the game either way and it was overall (including Yeaman) a fantastic performance.

I agree, just saying that it should have been taken.
If we are going to get to the next level then all these thing matter. Yeaman should, in hindsight, have drawn the FB and passed, Pitts should have taken the ball and Holdworth shouldn't have dropped the ball cold and missed the kicks he did. Lots of little things to cut out.
