In regards to the state of the pitch there really is and are no excuses. The KCOM under the control of the Allams via the SMC has for long enough been neglected and questions why under their management it has racked up debt need to be asked.

The majority of the country has suffered poor weather but clubs without the same standard of faculty can still manage to produce a pitch that copes with the weather. This time they can not use the rugby as an excuse.

The spat the Allams had with ground staff and mismanagement through lack of investment are most likely to be the root cause of the issues with the pitch.

Indeed, the Allams are a joke and HCC should grow a pair and start charging them for mis management of a public asset, the Stadium itself is in need of some serious investment, which the Council are responsible for, the SMC are like every other managing agency, lazy and complacent.

Anyone else think we may get a new captain? Seems weird to string it out if it's just going to be Houghton again.

I would think because of the delay in a captain’s announcement, we are going for a new leader. A change shouldn’t rock the boat so much, Sneyd or Carlos for me,

I see rovers are playing Cas on a friendly, they are streaming the game of Facebook and charging £5, I hope we do something similar.

We often see on here about how we are lacking in depth or need another proven player here or there, but in reality once you get into squad number 20+ no one really has much proven quality. We just need to show faith in our kids that they can mix it with the youngsters from Saints, Wigan etc.

I guess having lost Jones Ellis, Naulago and Kelly and with Shaul out for most of the season just bringing in Reynolds does weaken the squad as far as Super league experience is concerned and we are sort of 4 really experienced men down there. We have to hope that some of our untried youth comes good, that Matongo improves a lot and that we avoid any injury crisis' in a pretty hectic looking season.
