i think his tacklings ok esp for a half, seems to only have one working ankle so it would hamper the other 2 you mention

IMO getting rid of Seymour and replacing him with Dobson would be a mistake.

Seymour has had some good games and some bad ones this season but since his kick up the backside I feel he has comeback a better player and wants to fight for his spot in the team.

And I agree, he would be a lot better that Seymour and Hulls kicking game has been crap since Jason Smith left.

I think you can throw a lot of things into the mix.

He has a good relationship with Heremaia, he has played virtually a full season where as he missed a lot of the last season at NZW and he has gotten over his personal problems with alcohol. He certainly won't have had as much media attention over here as he did back home which was usually with negative stuff.

He hasn't the best kicking game but Holdsworth has a good one and they would complement each other well I reckon. I feel he has done enough to be given another season IF we don't get Chase.

1. I have never claimed to be one of those ITK. It is my honest recollection (and I accept it may be wrong) that McRae talked publicly about Amor and Paea.

2. It is my honest recollection that the club announced it was opening talks with Manu about a new contract and several weeks later it was apparent that talks had broken down. Reference was made to a final offer and deadlines. Then it was announced he had been given permission to talk to Saints.

3. I am suggesting how I think contract negotiations should be conducted in the future.

I hope we are not getting like the Rovers board where criticism of the owners/directors is not tolerated. I do fully support AP, SM and PG but I don't consider they are perfect or that they have done everything right.

I think signing Dobson would be a fairly significant upgrade on Seymour. He's far better in every aspect of the game other than defence. I'd swap them in a heartbeat. Won't happen though.

I think dobson would be a good signing.. In regards to him or seymour, IMO they both play different styles. I think seymour is a good player who right now lacks confidence

Not heard any rumours on Dobson but he is without doubt a better player than Seymour. NH would not sell Taylor to us so why would he sell Dobson?

Think signing Dobson is part of Pearsons masterplan. Galea, Watts, Mcdonnell. He's after confused fans buying season tickets from the east thinking their watching Rovers.

I certainly don't recall McRae mentioning any names whatsoever. In fact someone else has pointed out the lengths he went to to underline that we couldn't talk to anyone before the deadline.


After a few weeks of demands on here for news about Manu there was a short piece about how we were in talks with him. That's common or garden stuff and most definitely NOT negotiating in public. It all went a bit Pete Tong towards the end, granted - but in the intervening period negotiations had been in private.

I've criticised both McRae and AP this season for things they've said or done. And you may have seen my hissy-fit about signing McGoldrick. Challenging a specific piece of criticism that I believe to be flawed is not the same as 'not tolerating' any criticism whatsoever.

Not saying that I want to keep Seymour and would obviously rather have Chase, Brough, Dureau etc. But Finch who has been class this season, also struggled in his first season in SL and that was with a top side at Wigan with a class half back partner in Leululai but Finch ended up coming good. Who's to say that Seymour won't next season when he has a class partner next to him in one of the most difficult positions to play. Also lets not forget that we hardly score shed loads of points over the season do we, and that we rely more on our good defence to win us games. Most halves we've had over the years have struggled due to this imo.
Many overseas players in every position have struggled their first season in SL but come back stronger in their second. Seymour may well do the same.

Agree completely Chase is better than Seymour but Seymour isn't a bad player and has had some decent games this season for us. He needs to up his game without doubt but I thought he was good against Huddersfield. Holdsworth will help him if that is to be the partnership.

I wouldn't actually be to fussed with a holdsworth seymour partnership. If the club brought in a promising young halfback then i think that could work in our favour..

Learn off both pairings and release seymour next season for the young gun.

As previously stated, we can't buy every target in one off season even though we'd like too.
