Assuming Knight gets a ban, the Reserves have a game next weekend so I think that would count as one of the games?

Well we’ve sung there praises so far this season and rightly so, but it’s only fair to pull them up when they fall below the standards promised.


We got dragged into a scrappy game by a very poor side, with senior players on the pitch I’d like to think we would be smart enough to not fall into the trap.


The Knight red card is borderline unforgivable.


To give credit to the team we improved in 2nd half however some of our attacking options were clunky at best, we lost contact constantly which has been a worry for a few weeks.


Agree that Cartwrights use of the bench has been weird, likes of Ese’ese, Bourouh and Knight playing way too many minutes.


Context is important, we are still ahead of where most thought we would be, we’ve done it tough with two centres at SR, hopefully get some bodies back in the next couple weeks and kick on from there.

Brainfart by Knight, shocking first half by us, but Burgess was a Red too, this is where we are at, a long way to go still, massively frustrating game, we didn't help ourselves, big three games coming up will decide if we are top 6 contenders or not, need our 2nd rowers back ASAP. 

In situations like today context and perception goes a long way to defining the mood of a fan base.


If we had lost narrowly to Wire, in a decent performance, but had won yesterday, especially if it came off a battling second half performance with a man down, then we would still be on eleven points from ten games but the mood on here would be wholly different. None of us would be feeling quite as deflated as we have been since yesterday's game.


I think the problem for most of us is the creeping feeling that, after the completely unexpected opening few games to the season, there is now an air of us slowly sliding backwards again with some of last year's bad traits beginning to resurface once more, chiefly indiscipline.


If we win at Headingly then everyone's going to be buoyant again, writing off yesterday as one bad game in a decent season so far, but if we lose these three upcoming away games we'll go into the Cas home game in June feeling under tremendous pressure to get a win in order to stop the rot which in turn is likely to make everyone apprehensive and nervy again.


Like I said, it's context and perception here. We're feeling that the direction of travel, after yesterday's disappointing display, has suddenly become backwards and downwards again. The spectre of last year's horror show is never too far from all of our minds, a dread of it returning to haunt us again. Somehow, Cartwright needs to reset the squad and alter that perception that we are starting to slide backwards again. If we go into the Cas game on the back of one win in eight then we will be back in familiar territory once more with everyone wondering where the next win is coming from.


Watching the games over the weekend I wasn't overly impressed with any of Cats, Leeds or Saints, so that middle group still looks wide open to me, but we need to rediscover how to win games again fairly sharpish or this run will turn into a mid season rot.

We played poorly but still only lost by virtue of a missed conversion despite playing half of the game a man down. If Knight didn't get sent off we likely win. Same performance either way.


It wasn't great with 13 v 13 but we'd started to get on top and could have won comfortably in the end.

Getting fed up of officials saying things that just aren’t true.


Same with the knock on at the end which clearly went backwards.

The key moment for me is the Cust no-try. If he grounds the ball we go in at the break 12-8 up and, more importantly, those two minutes of madness hasn't happened. In that scenario I think we ease away to a comfortable win. Huddersfield were still poor even with the man advantage.


Even playing with a man down all it would have taken is one half break in that last twenty minutes and we come away from the afternoon with two scrambled points and we're still inside the top four. Whatever the circumstances it's still annoying that we let it slip through our fingers. On that showing Huddersfield aren't going to be winning too many games this year even with players returning from injury. They looked clueless for large parts of yesterday.


But we still need to get back to winning ways as soon as so this doesn't turn into a developing rot.

Without the ball, he's a decent player, but with the ball, the stats speak for themselves.

Obviously doesn't think Wainhouse is ready yet.
